Re: Sell the .50bmg to fund a 300wm?
It really all comes down to what you feel is best for your situation. If it were me, I think that I would figure out another way to pay for one of Mike's rifles and keep the .50 for the time being.
Now, I am not trying to sound paranoid and I certainly don't want to get on any sort of political rambling, but with that said...I expect to see a fairly comprehensive gun control agenda from the Obama administration and some of the antigunner Dems hit the scene in the next year or so. Fortunately, this part of the Obama agenda had to take a back seat because of other, more pressing political issues when he took office such as the economy/bail-outs, healthcare, taxes, etc. Now that those issues, at least in some part, have been dealt with (albeit unsuccessfully), I would expect that it will resurface sometime soon and will likely include measures aimed at a ban on .50cal rifles. Again, this is purely speculative on my part, but now may not be the best time to be parting with semi-autos, .50s, etc. Again, who knows what the future may hold, but out of an abundance of caution at this point, I personally wouldn't be letting go of my .50 at this point in time.
