Found a buyer for my GT-14 Gen 2+ SHP. Guy is from Italy, not a US citizen nor a permanent resident.

He does have a US shipping address.

Can I sell my monocular to him and ship to his US address?

I find the ITAR a little confusing.

Thanks,

Paul

Re: Selling Gen 2+ SHP to a non-resident?

The answer is no, you cannot sell him an ITAR controlled item. It's about citizenship and not mail boxes. ITAR prohibits access to a lot of information about NV equipment and capabilities, even taking a look through some (if not all) ITAR controlled NVDs!

Vic from TNVC is an expert on this topic, so let's hope he can add to the discussion.

I'm cool with that. I was just confused on what is an ITAR controlled device. They say a lot about Gen 3 but if you dig a little deeper, then "some Gen 2" are controlled as well. I suspected that the Gen 2+ Super High Performance was probably what they are talking about.

I don't know that your particular scope is ITAR controlled, that's what I hoped Victor could tell you.

I know there are ITAR issues shipping scopes with mil dot reticles to some countries outside the US, which gives you a clue that many NVDs might be a problem.
