I recently got a 17 hmr upper to play with. It shoots really good but I could use a lighter trigger. It is a bca 20” 1:9 ss heavy. I don’t have a good scope or mount yet but it is pretty accurate. Later, I was reading articles about 17hmr blowback semi automatic problems with firing out of battery and causing problems. This was after I got it of course.
I use my Ruger precision 17 hmr a lot for varmints and since it is so heavy and a bolt I thought a ar17 would be handy.

No worries. Wasn’t trying to be a jerk, just making sure there wasn’t a question you need help with!

I love the idea of a 17HMR, but every time I’ve shot one or owned one they don’t tend to be very accurate compared to my 22LR and I lose interest.

I have a Ruger precision 17 hmr and it has been awesome. Recently cleared the pond of beavers with head shots when they swimming. Skunks and other varmints in our livestock pens and barns. It’s extremely accurate but heavy and a bolt action. I thought ar 17 would be cool. Now a bit nervous.

So you were happy with your purchase before that?
Well, that's what you get for reading.
Yeah, I thought it is very cool. I only shot about 30 rounds of cci 17 gr and it’s decent accuracy. Even with a cheap spare scope and the wrong mount. I have had a tippmann m4 22lr for quite awhile a shoot and like it a lot.
