Rayners Long Range match will be held this coming weekend (Sat 21 - Sun 22). With Saturday being on the 3rd weekend and Sunday on the 4th it might be confusing. Only two more matches left so if you haven't been to one yet come on out and join in, spectators are more than welcome to follow the shooters thru the various stations.

Will post results on this thread after the match. Lets see if another new record can be set.

Little soggy is an understatement. More like drowned rat but figured the crowd would be less today and wind wasn't bad. Only problem was seeing the target through the rain and fog...

Despite the lack of rain today, we still had a good time ;). This was only the second time I've made it out there this year but, I'm looking forward to next month already. Congratulations to Jim B. for a new course record on a day where they could only shoot at the 5 pointers at 995 due to a lack of visibility!

Here are a couple pics from today's crew. It's really good to see Mr. Elk out there again!!! I believe there were 40 people there today.

Not a great turnout this weekend but possibly the weather on Saturday and shooters maybe mixing up the weekends that Sunday fell on contributed to a lower than normal turnout. Congratulations to Jim Bragg for his new high record setting score of 435 and also to Dave Moore for another super score of 430. Great job that Chris Michael did getting the 410 also. It's sure getting tough, I do believe the days of a LR handgun getting into the top five or even top 10 again is slipping away. For so long everyone was chasing that magic 400 now it's getting to be commonplace at the matches for the top shooters.

This month was my all time lowest score ever so it's a new record for me also. Different gun, no settings and the lil 223 didn't offer any surprise other than I still had a great time and I'll still give it another try next summer cause it's just a fun lil gun to shoot. Next month, back to my LR pistols to finish up a fun Summer of shooting.

Many thanks to Tom and Carolyn for allowing us a great place to shoot and enjoy this great hobby. As usual the food was great and we all appreciate the help it takes to prepare and get us all fed at lunch time. It takes a lot of work to keep the targets welded up and the backstops cleared so we can see all of our misses, thanks to all of those that helped with that part of the match.

Dennis, thank you for posting up the scores so quickly and for R.O.ing our group! We had a great time shooting with all of you.

Congratulations to our teacher Jim Bragg for setting the record despite it being a rainy day Saturday. We will make sure to come next month on Saturday to shoot with you.

Thank you, Mr and Mrs Rayner for having these matches.

Mr and Mrs Smith.
