Can someone(s) check my math / methodology here? The numbers make sense in my head, but I want to make sure I'm on the right path. The goal of this sheet is to illustrate what dialing to the wrong magnification on a SFP optic does to skew the intended firing solution. If this has already been done somewhere in the resources section, I have missed it.
Interestingly, if these numbers are right (and I think they are), then mistakenly dialing to 3.5x instead of the intended 4x only causes an error of 3" at 450 yards. Dialing to 3x gives an error of 7.3" at the same distance. This model also shows that it is better error on the side of more magnification than intended as this has less of an impact than less magnification. This takes away quite a bit of the concern I have about the downsides of a LPVO with an SFP mil reticle as shots past 400 yards will be more deliberate anyway.
Holdovers are out to 700YDS for 77HPBT going 2600FPS at 1000FT.
