I can't keep up with scoring every single target posted but as promised any targets that appear to be even close to breaking the Top 25 All-Time list I will score. If I have free time I will score more.

First time posting a pic. Wish me luck!
Fun target, great for training on a weakness I have. I had good conditions and probably lucky tonight.

That's a darn fine target, nice shooting! I can't quite tell if the top left shot on your final group snuck out of the circle, but if it didn't you're definitely in the top 5 on the leaderboard. Did you measure the 3 groups (center to center of widest shots) so you could get a score? Or post a picture of the target with a quarter on it so someone can score it for you.

I knew I would manage to screw this up. I am resending the picture with the quarter as it looks like I attached the wrong image and I zoomed in on the cold bore target. I would love to have this target scored with that official software. My thanks to the guys that do this it was a fun challenge and good practice

padom Are you able to score the target? I don't have OnTarget software myself... BTW, still waiting for you to shoot that new TL-3 6.5x47 of yours and take over first place. :)

Poeyedoc, if you can measure the groups from center-to-center of widest spread shots using calipers you can score the target. Just add up the three groups. If one of the shots on the third group is outside the circle you need to add +1 to the score.

Attempts at scoring: I put an unshot copy of the target underneath and I think that helps show that the shots just break the line. I get a 1.275 score so see what you think Tucker. Thanks

I would like to know how long do most shooters take for the 25 rounds?I have shot this target a few times and my groups open on the 6th dot, I'm usually done in 5-10 minutes
(308 M700, 1-12 Hart NM, 30BA)
thanks

Good question that I too was curious about. Took me about 20 minutes whenever I have done the challenge.

Does anybody have time to score this? It was shot about 2 months after the competition started iirc. It was my second attempt, as my first I totally bombed out. The first attempt was about 2 weeks prior. I just learned to post pics last week, as I never learned on scout. I'm just curious how a rookie did his 2nd attempt. Thanks

Thanks Sheldon, I was hoping someone could do it with the software. At least until I learn how to do it myself:D

Measure a single bullet hole with calipers, outside edge to outside edge. Measure the group size with calipers at the widest point, outside edge to outside edge. Subtract the measurement of the single bullet hole from the measurement of the group. That's your group size... measure all three and add them up then add 3 more points from the dots. Total score looks to be mid 4's based on the picture.

Thanks, I will give it a shot.

Finally got out to shoot this 100yd challenge again. Shot it with Varget and 139L in my PVA TL3 6.5x47L. Recently started doing some testing with Varget in this new rifle and every bullet I put over Varget is shooting tiny little groups. Love it!

Score: 1.122

I've been looking at this topic for a few days now. I have to admit, I had just never noticed it earlier. It looks like a lot of fun once I can get my serious shooting venue nailed down. A 100yd facility nearby may be suitable.

But I have a small issue; I'm just too feeble these days to be able to manage shooting prone. However, reading over the rules, I can't find any specific demand that this challenge must be fired prone; only that a bipod and rear bag are required. If I can do his from atop a bench, then I'm hoping to give this a try. No bets.

Your views are welcome, either way. If necessary, I'll be invoking the Resident Elder Fart Clause, meaning I'll compete anyway, but recuse myself from being inluded in any superior attainment posts. This assumes I'll even be competitive. I wish...

Also, looking above, I can't find any target downloads except the dark ones. I'm looking for one that downloads the target posted in the first post, with the orange dot and the aiming points with white in them. What am I missing here?

Greg

Greg just shoot it off a bench . As long as you use a bipod and not one
of those ghey BR rests , we are good with whatever you shoot .

I'm gonna shoot this challenge again down the track , but off a pack
just for shits n g's .

Man, there is some seriously nice shootng from the participants. I did the cold bore challange when it was posted a few years ago. I might have to give this a try.

OK, don't take this the wrong way but I'm confused about how this is scored.

It appears (going by the "grease" mark left by the bullets) that only one of your two cold bore shots is touching the center dot. Wouldn't that be scored a "1" instead of a "0"?

The group scoring instructions are not completely explicit but they appear to insinuate by the example of the group outside the circle (.5MOA group outside the circle = 1.5) that group scoring is based on MOA not on inches. If that's so, your group score would be slightly better.

What am I missing?

Both cold bore shots broke the center dot. We have scored group size in inches not moa since day one
