With me giving up the Thread keeper of the SH rimfire competitions, I just wanted to post up GO BYs for anyone who is interested. They have too many characters to have in PM form, so below is what I do, please feel free to continue them the same way or modify to your liking.

If anyone gets jammed up along the way I'll help as much as possible to get you up to speed. I did have the sizes and such of texts and all that formatted stuff, but with the site switchover, it does show it anymore. It's easily modified by "go advance", highlight what you want to change, then press on of the formatting button (top of the text box) and press save.

Let me know whatever else you may need.

ONEFORALL has volunteered for doing the Long Range stuff.

LONG RANGE HEADER GO BY
Generally what I'll do is start a thread EXAMPLE: July 2014 SH Long Range Rimfire Competitions

Then I'll open another window in the browser, go to the previous month, press "edit" and copy / paste the header. For the header, you also do a "reply with quote" and copy it from there. I copied and pasted this month's below (the same can be done with the score's compilation):

From there I'll PM JasonK (a great guy), the moderator for the rimfire section. To make it easier for him to do, I'll ask to change the last month's thread (including the link) and to swap out with the present month' thread (including the link). Sometimes he'll just do it and beat me to the PM, but it's always a good idea to make it easier for the mods - a honey and vinegar type of thing:

SHORT RANGE HEADER GO BY

On the short range, for the TRC, I have a cup with 20#'s written on 20 pieces of paper, I shake it, pull a paper = first number, then repeat until i get 10 numbers. then i put the numbers at the bottom of the header. For the header, you also do a "reply with quote" and copy it from there. (the same can be done with the score's compilation). I copied and pasted the header below:

The targets are set up to be the same dimensions as any of the targets that are commercially available, to be used with 8.5" x 11"; printer paper, and to use minimal ink. For the 4P 5 bull target, a portion of the edge can be folded and matched / stapled / taped to the other side - essentially making one large target.

Scores of all the short range competitions will sorted by the type of competition, distance, caliber, and sighting device used and compiled at month's end. Scores found in error can be corrected by the original creator of that month's thread.

Obviously it can be made more simple for ease of administering, but also at the end of the year, i'll start a "SH LONG RANGE SCORES 20__" and put all the month's links in one, then copy and paste that link into the header for archival stuff. Same for the short range stuff.

If any of the rules links needs modification, go to the link, press "reply with a quote", copy and paste the text into another thread with a revision date, make the modification, press save. Then copy and paste that link into the header.

If anyone feels more comfortable having the original copy of the targets, PM me your email address and I'll send the files. The templates are slightly larger, for some reason when I upload them to photobucket, then to the Hide, there is "shrinkage" of the image. That's why the files are larger to compensate, and a bulls eye circle or scoring ring may actually be just a slight bit bigger or smaller - but just by a little, I tried to get them as close as I could to the nearest inch or whatever the actual scoring ring sizes are on the NRA and similar competition targets.

thank you joe for being the founding father of the whole thing.

oneforall is up for taking over the long range comps, the short range comps are still up for grabs.

hopefully, this ammo stuff will go away and this will become a busy monthly thing again.
