I had the pleasure to shoot all 3 rifles in the same day back to back. I own a Bergara B14R Steel and love the rifle. I have a Vudoo Ravage ordered. I was wanting a RimX build.

Bergara B14R we all know how they shoot. Clunky bolt, magazines feed and function well on factory HMR stock. Barreled Actions take so tweaking. All in all it is a great rifle for the money. I don’t second guess my purchase.

Vudoo V22 Ravage. I had never shot one until yesterday. It had a TT Diamond in it set LOW!!!! Vortex optic, 30moa rail and 10moa Burris Rings. I was hitting steel at 300 easy. The bolt was so buttery smooth that I laughed when I cycled it the first few times. Gun had a few thousand rounds through it so I don’t know it’s that smooth out of the factory. The balance on it was a little back, but was still comfortable. The feel was just what I was hoping it would be. It was just AWESOME and makes me want mine now.

The RimX lacked a little to be desired for me. The NF NX8 on it was exactly what I have ordered and dam was it nice. It was a sweet rifle either way. The action was not a smooth as the V22. That being said it only had about 1k rounds or so through it if I remember correctly. It has a Schillin 24” barrel on it in a MDT Chassis. The balance was right in front of the mag well. The bolt close was a little tighter than the Vudoo. Not a deal breaker though. It would have just taken more to get the build right.

All in all I am glad I bought the V22 over the RimX build. The Vudoo should be all set and ready to roll when it gets to me and the RimX would need the proper smith to build it once I got it all or buy it from someone who already had it built. This is just my opinion after a nice NRL22 match was had.

I don't think you'd be disappointed with either, I've never handled a Rim-X but they seem like shooters.

All that said, I did the same thing you did. I bought a Bergara B14R, got hooked really quickly into shooting it lots and I wanted to take it to the next level. I've got a V22 right now and I'm shooting it 2-3 times a week trying to get better. I shot really poorly at my last .22 competition, but it was all me not having good fundamentals.

I've only had the v-22 since Christmas and i've already put just shy of 2500 rounds through it. Shooting precision rimfire is very addictive in a sense that you just want to get better.

I throughly enjoy it as well. I bought my B14R in October. The RimX and V22 are both excellent build options. I was wanting to build/ assemble a RimX my self at home. I figured out it wasn’t going to be that simple. If I was going to have to work with a GS I was just going to spend that money on a Vudoo and have 1 company to deal with if there were any issues.

We are just waiting on the barrel and will be testing both the rimx and the vudoo side by side. I’ve shot the vudoo side by side 4 bergara’s and while and excellent gun, with a perfect gun for someone who doesn’t want to spend the full dollar or trying to get into it but it isn’t a vudoo. That v22 is on its own level. I’ve handled the rimx action but just waiting on the barrel like mentioned (should be mid next week) the action feels great and very excited to get it shooting. I don’t have a single regret going with the v22 and would get another!

The vortex challenge I shot at 50, with 50 rounds instead of 25, still in the designated time frame with loading in between (only 2 mags)

I ordered a Vudoo and bought a Barreled Action while I wait for my full build. Then the wife will have one as well!!

I did tons of research prior debating the three and initially purchased a Bergara and absolutely hated it. It was a PITA, the bolt was clunky, the mags were very unreliable and double fed. I tried it in 2 different chassis and less than 300 rounds gave up. I came to the conclusion that the only reliable chassis system for the B14R are the MPAs with adjustable mag catch, am not found it and wasn't going to compromise in order to get a reliable running gun.

I then debated the Vudoo and RimX, researched more decided to go RimX because of the more reliable feeding mags and the ability to change barrels being a pre-fit system. I'm now running a RimX with a Proof Competition Contour 18 inch and TT Special 2 Stage set 8/10. I purchased the BA from Sterling Precison who checked the headspace and fabricated the seamless thread protector. I installed the trigger and mounted it in the KRG X-Ray and tuned the mag height myself. I'm actually pretty shocked that you encountered a RimX with a bolt close not as smooth if not smoother than a Vudoo. I know the owners of no less than 5 Vudoos and we have shot each others rigs. They all have commented on not only how well it shoots but how smooth and easy my bolt moves/closes (Its literally like on ball bearings). A couple of them were actually a little upset both sending thier rifles back to Vudoo to have them looked at.

My RIM X cycles effortlessly like air flowing through a pipe , but its bedded and correctly torked into the stock if it doesn't have the correct tork its accuracy will suffer as well as its fluid movement.

Little update on the comparison. My shooting partners rimx lothar barrel arrived Friday and Saturday morning we got it installed, tt diamond thrown on, and dropped into an ai ax pre 2014. Little unfair comparison at first as me and my shooting partner both shoot krg’s, mpa’s mdt’s and a mix of manners and Mcmillan’s but I hated my ai 2.0 so I sold it and after only a few seconds behind the ax we both hated it. Our groups were horrific and very disappointing to say the least but we were not comfortable behind the rifle.

We swapped the ax out for my manners prs1t that my vudoo is sitting in in the picture above and what a difference. Our groups changed from 1”-2” geoups at 50 yards to .4’s-.7’s right away! By this time we were running low on time
So we didn’t get our full test in. We only shot 1 kind of ammo that day as or order hasn’t arrived yet and I just recently shot the last of my eley, Lapua and sk. We shot Remington club (eley) ammo which has so far been the worst contender in my vudoo so not a fair comparison between the two rifles.

We will be shooting again next week I believe once ammo arrives, rifle will be resting in an mdt Acc permanently I believe and we will get a full side by side comparison. One thing for sure, that rimx is smoother then my vudoo and damn does it cycle nice!! We did have ejection problems which in turned caused some feeding issues obviously which I’ve never experienced with the vudoo. The rimx mag is flawless, and stunning machining but I’ve also never experienced any mag related issues with my vudoo in 4000-5000 rounds either.

    Anxious to see the comparison!

A little short update. we got the rifle changed over to the mdt acc. I don’t know if it will rest here as it looks a little ridiculous but for the moment it’s significantly better!!

Today a 50 shot group at 25 yards was shot just to get a feel for the rifle in a stock he was comfortable in and see how the lothar barrel could preform. Group was shot with tenex. Excited to get it out to 50, 100, 200 and 300!! Looks like it’s going be a shooter. Also all extraction and ejection issues seemed to disappear!
