I was shooting my REPR suppressed the other day and I took the can off and forgot to switch the gas system back to normal 'N' and left it on the 'S' suppressed setting. If it functions fine on 'S' why wouldn't you leave it on 'S' all the time?
Wouldn't that produce a cleaner rifle at the end of the day?

It may not function with other types of ammunition or environment conditions.

The different gas block settings control the amount of gas allowed to push the piston.

You could possibly feel a difference in felt recoil with the different gas settings though.

I run my LWRC M6A3 on the "S" setting all the time, suppressed or not. I figure if it runs that way, then it's getting all the gas it needs. If it starts giving me trouble in a match or something then I can go to "normal." Until then, why run it any harder than I have to? My two cents. So far it's 100%.
