Shooting thread

I am sick and tired of everything being Chinese Flu so my Partner in Crime and I headed out to the range to shoot at the 1000 yd.[each of us in our own trucks, social distancing don't you know] Paint the plate and hang a 2 qt. milk bottle full of colored water off of the sucker rod 18" in front of the plate so bullet frags don't fuck up your fun.

This is a shooting forum right? Just checking.

Well by God, Mother Nature did not shine on us. It is misty here where you have to run the windshield wipers every now and then.
It is drier than a popcorn fart around here so we are happy to get any moisture coming our way, I just wish Mom would let it rain instead of playing fuck fuck with this shit and messing up my shooting.

We hung around for a while and cussed and discussed all of the problems of the world as we know it [ still keeping our social distance] then decided,"Fuck this shit, maybe tomorrow will be a better day." and we both went home. Neither of us wanted to get our shit out in the mist.

So did any of you have a better day shooting this morning?

Yes. Took stand and steel out to the camp to get some 300 yrd practice in. Ringing steel on target.

Some turkey hunters were afraid I was getting an early start on their birds haha.

Not today Brother. If I get any shooting done today there's gonna be a helluva alot of paperwork involved....

My club is open-just closed to public. It's a private club but they have public events like 3 gun etc. Anywho I shot both weekend days. 200-300-400yd steel with 308-65cr-556.

I was shooting steel at the house here the other day and after every shot the whole canyon would gobble with turkeys!

Shooting my 40x at 50 yds this weekend. 5 positions on a gate. 2 shots per position. Double target at 50 1"/2".

SK Rifle Match 1040fps
Rem 40x with repeater conversion
steiner M7 4-28
JP Chassi
Factory trigger at like 36 lbs (really need to get a good trigger one of these days.)

set par at 120s and easily getting all shots off using a heavy sand Wiebad MFC bag. decided to up the ante to 90s par. Could not get all 10 shots off. Most was 9 couple times.

Short Action Precision recently came out with a lightweight fill. So I switched to the light bag (2 lb I believe). Was instantly able to get all 10 shots off not fighting a heavy 10 lb bag. Only couple misses and 1 clean run.

More practice needed for sure. Very fun.

Raining and snowing and wind howling, but I did manage to shoot some 22lr at the 50 yd target out my shop window. Better than nothing.
