shop with best chance of a XDm in stock/DC area?

Re: shop with best chance of a XDm in stock/DC area?

Try Virginia Arms in Manassas. They are great to deal with and have good prices and selection. I know they have em cause I went in there to look at them recently. Try out the SW M&P while you are there. I am a SA XD guy, but I like the SW alot

I'm not sure you'll find a double stack mag configuration "a Lot easier" to carry than a single stack 1911. The 1911 is thinner (single stack) but a bit heavier. I've had both and the 1911 is an easier carry. That said, I still have my XDM and sold my 1911.

My .02...best of luck!

thanks guys. i just stopped by there, super nice and great stock... it got me second guessing the XD though.. i may be leaning torwards the walther pps now... it felt amazing for how thin it was. the only downfall was i think its a 6rd mag

Spoon, do some searching on the sidearm thread and read more about what pistols/revolvers suit your purpose. VA Arms is a great store but you should never buy a weapon onthe recommendation of the salesperson. Read a lot, try some out at the range, and then buy the pistol that suits you and the role best.

Thanks I appreciate that. Actually, the XD was the most recommended to me. I'm going for concealabilty, in a .40, that is sub-compact, with a full grip (using mag as extention), that's thin and I can carry ITW. The XD felt great but is def not thin...

I have the XD subcompact in .40 S&W for concealed carry. It is a little bit thicker than other options. A Glock or S&W M&P might serve you better. Don't get wrapped around barrel length to much if you are carrying IWB.
