We did a lot of testing with 22, 24, and 26 inch barrels with factory match ammo and found their velocities to be identical, only a 10 fps difference between the 26 and 22 in barrel which is negligible.
We didn't test anything shorter than 22" because our picitanny rail wouldn't have been long enough for a pvs-22 in front of our big S&B 5-25's.
Oh yeah we have shot to 1150 yards with 175SMK's out of the 22" barrel on several occasions and they are still supersonic.
