Photos Shot Placement

Re: Shot Placement

Yes, Bennie Cooley from JP. It's on the end of 24" Lilja connected to Bushy upper and lower, PRS, and JP trigger.

Re: Shot Placement

The only down-side to the isntant kill is that you don't get to hear them squeal.

I got rid of the 6.8 used on the big hog and have now replaced it with an AR10 for groups and a 300 Whisper for the silent sleep.

If, while a group eats, one falls down and doesn't make a sound, the rest just keep eating: it's a beautiful thing.

Re: Shot Placement

Just got that back today, taxidermist said I nicked the spine but missed the ear by less than an inch. Had it gone in the ear, immediate lights out; missing the ear sent him running, and it took 7 more rounds (from a 6.8 off-hand at 100+ yards) to eventually put him down.

Damn, that was a big pig, much fun to kill.

The round is a 100-grain 6.8 round, for scale.
