<div class="ubbcode-block"><div class="ubbcode-header">Quote:</div><div class="ubbcode-body">Brooke McAllister is concerned because she feels the school's policy banning cross-dressing costumes discriminates against some Utah families. And it all started with an email she received from the school.

"When I read the Halloween guidelines, it said, ‘No masks, no weapons, no cross dressing,' " McAllister said.

McAllister said her 13-year-old daughter dressed up as a police officer Wednesday for Elk Ridge Middle School's Halloween festivities, but she modified the costume to be as feminine as possible because of the no cross dressing policy. McAllister feels the policy discriminates against gay families.</div></div>

Re: Should cross dressing be allowed at school?

The rule applies to both normal and gay students, so it’s not discrimination.

One day we’ll tell our grandchildren that back in our day, there was such a thing as SHAME.

Re: Should cross dressing be allowed at school?

I really have no comment on the topic except to say that I saw many signs posted on the doors of businesses this week warning that face paint, masks and costumes of any kind were not allowed inside.
OK, maybe I do have a comment; Police Officers now come (in case school admins don't know) in all sexes, colors, creeds, etc. Why would a uniform on a female be considered cross dressing?

Re: Should cross dressing be allowed at school?

I had kids at my door last night who, instead of going house to house on the same side of the street, came to my door after having collected candy from the neighbor across the street.

Were they cross-addressing?

Re: Should cross dressing be allowed at school?

Cross dressing is fine as long as you are willing to take the potential ass whipping which could accompany such an act! On an everyday basis, that is.

As for Halloween?? Shit, you're supposed to dress up! Some of the funniest costumes I've ever seen were ugly dudes dressed as chicks.

Some people in this world need to just shut what's called the fuck up and get a life!!

Re: Should cross dressing be allowed at school?

I didn't click on the link, but the quoted portion makes no indication that Brooke's costume was questioned. If you remove all of the irrelevant info, the article simply states that Brooke is concerned that someone other than her may be discriminated against. In other words, the newspaper couldn't find anyone that took issue with the policy, so they quoted someone (likely out of context) and twisted their words to fit their agenda.

That'll get you labeled a homophobe. Gotta be careful not to violate someone's right to not be offended.

If only the fags would realize that isn't a real right, half these stupid problems wouldn't exist.

Re: Should cross dressing be allowed at school?

So let me get this straight:

You can dress up as a monster, killer, bloodsucker, undead brain eater, cut-throat pirate, hoodlum or any one of a number of bad characters but if you dress as a different gender for your costume it is going to destroy civilization?

It's like admonishing children who just refuse to learn... It's not about 'offense' it's about not being what the Constitution defines as equal rights. Gay rights, though subsumed into the BS of political correctness is still every bit as valid as any other right in so far as they should not be infringed. I don't believe that they should be elevated above anyone else's either for that matter.

To those who push the Brady Campaign agenda or the Joyce Foundation, us gun owners are not 'normal' and so to them our rights are less important than their agenda... not a pattern of behaviour too different from what I've seen many post here about 'them' who happen to be different but US Citizens regardless.

If we pushed for the full value of the Constitution for ALL Americans then we'd have more support in return. Bigotry begets bigotry.

No, I'm not a liberal, not gay or soft-hearted, I just accept that freedom and rights are not the sole reserve of 'normal' people - whatever the hell that means.

Re: Should cross dressing be allowed at school?

Normal, straight, gay or whatever. If the "child" was raised as trans-gendered, then he/she would have sorted that out way before halloween. The person in the article is fighting the cause of hypotheticals. Her kid is not gay, just like a lib to stir the pot for someone else. I agree with the previous post. This lady just wanted to get her name in the paper.

Re: Should cross dressing be allowed at school?

Cross-dress?? Why hell yeah man! Nothing wrong with catering to the faggots/queers! We slaughter millions of the unborn and hand out condoms to school kids so......let 'er roll!!

Helluva hundredth post. I'm almost scared to see what you do as an encore.

Re: Should cross dressing be allowed at school?

You know, I was in one of our local gun shops last week, and in that crowded place, of all things, there was a tall, ungainly, butt-ugly obvious transsexual buying, of all things, a huge S&W Model 629.

As uncomfortable as I admit to having felt around this individual, she, or he, or whatever you want to call them, or they call themselves, understood the possible implications of tomorrow's events for the Second Amendment. They remarked, "I'm getting this now while I still can."

Given that, I'd sooner stand in the company of a hundred such individuals who understand the importance of maintaining a vigilant guard against tyranny, than stand beside one anti.

May want to spend a little time reflecting on the type of places you hand around. Just a thought...

I'm not sure if you're duller or clumsier. The two qualities in you are like a two-entry horse race in which the participants stumble backwards out of the gate at the bell and fall over.

Proof? You can't even get it right the second time around ...

Re: Should cross dressing be allowed at school?

I haven't posted any pics on here in years. I forgot how to do it.

PS Horses can't fall backward out of the gate because it is closed behind them. Only the front gate opens at the bell.

What rights does a gay person have that do not apply to heterosexuals?
