Should I get this Viper PST gen 1, SFP?

Hey, guys, a friend of mine offered to sell me his Viper PST gen 1, second focal point with Vortex precision scope rings and no name bipod for $700, should I go for it or better off looking for a different one? Thank you!

I have seen the Pst gen 11 as low as 850.00 never seen it at 700.00 not for the 5x25 anyways, now most I see are 900 to 1000. Would be up for a new one at 700.

I think they just increased the price $50 or so since I last looked. If you wait a bit it might drop again. Either way it's not a very good scope. Better options to be had at that price.

Same scope, brand new from Optics Planet for $450. Buy yourself a new Harris (~$100) instead of the junk no-name bipod, and some used quality scope rings here in the PX (~$80-90) and be under what your “friend” is charging you. You could nearly substitute an Atlas CAL bipod over the Harris for the same amount he’s asking.

Eurooptic has new gen 1 PST 6-24x50 for $499.00, that much $$ for a used PST SFP is way too much maybe 2-3 hundred for that scope if it's in great shape.

That's what I paid for my Gen1 PST 4-16 SFP brand new shortly after they came out.

That is a terrible deal.

PST G1 $300ish (used)

PST Gen1 is a POS. I owned two. Hated the glass.

PST Gen2 3-15x is much much better, I owned 3 (still have 1)

SFP sucks for PRS style shooting. Deal killer IMO.

Usually can find used Seekins or the Seekins rebranded Vortex rings in the PX here for a great price, they are most robust and most protected part of the rifle.

I'd get the MRAD PST get 2 3-15x, those same rings or ARC M10s which are also great, and a Atlas CAL Gen 2 or TBAC bipod and never look back- I've never used the tbac btw, but own 2x of the Cal gen 2


And the best advice I have to give...

NEVER trust your "friend" again. Seriously. Not your friend.
