Should you keep the origonal boxes for your gear?

I would keep the box if it’s a rare or a collectors’s/limited/anniversary edition item. Otherwise, I throw it away. I do try to sell if possible such as a factory plastic pistol case.

I will have to say that I still have the cardboard box and foam from my Anschutz 1827F. Probably because it’s my most expensive factory gun.

I have a several garage shelves full of empty firearm and scope boxes. My wife thinks I'm crazy for keeping them. I'm going to show her this thread tonight. She won't agree, but at least she will see that I'm not alone!

Just be glad you're not into knife collecting. It's been awhile since I've purchased a premo knife but at one point people were requesting that the packing peanuts on Hinderer knives be included. I'm not fucking kidding. They were like gold or some shit.
But yes save for possible resale. The boxes shouldn't be needed for warranty claims though.

Ah yes, tactical peanuts. I only keep Hinderer boxes with handwritten messages from Rick himself.

I toss the peanuts or use them for packaging.

I only keep original watch boxes and packaging because it does make a difference when you selling a higher end watch.

Also keep boxes for stuff I think I have a decent chance of reselling in the kinda near future. Any accessories and crap I'm not going to use stay in the box.

Not that I think it'll be collectible, just because if there's a few of whatever item I'm selling, even if I just get the same $, which one you going to buy? Makes for an easier, faster sale one day down the road.

If I'm planning on keeping it, screw that.
