Wanted to share a great customer service experience with y'all.
I have a 10/22 that I have built up on the cheap with which to do some training and local NRL22 matches(signed up for my first in April). While a long time shooter, I am new to the precision long range world (taking a class with @Lowlight and the guys at Mile High in May) and wanted to find a cheap way to get some practical training in.
I was looking for a cheap FFP mil scope with a christmas tree reticle as I plan to invest in higher quality scopes of this type when I get around to building a dedicated long range rig. My search led me to the FFP Argos BTR in 6-24x50mm with the AMPR reticle (https://athlonoptics.com/product/rifle-scope-argos-6-24x50/, seemed to be a great value at under $300 so I snagged one. The glass on the thing is good for the price and certainly works for the sub 300 yd. range I'll be using the gun, turrets felt fine and I quickly got it mounted. Upon closer inspection I noticed that my scope had a MOA cap on the windage, popping the caps off revealed that the scope was etched MIL so I assumed it was a mix up.
I called Athlon today, and spent a total of 5 minutes on the phone and have a replacement cap in the mail. They did not ask for an order number or anything, just hopped into gear to make it right. They said they inspect every scope when it arrives from China and it sounds like someone just mixed them up. Every manufacturer has mistakes happen, happy to report Athlon did a great job handling it.
Cheers
