Yeah, I am not digging the new site so far, but as I am not paying for it, I guess I don't really care all that much... Still, the old functionality seemed to be better.
Thats how I felt bout an hour ago but I'm loving the new site. They still have a lot of shit to work out and get rolling but I believe this will be a better functioning website in the end.

On another note, My dad just picked up a Sig556 Classic yesterday for a decent price and would like to flip it and try to make some money. $1300 for SHWW members (he paid not a lot less than that for it). This is a private sale for local guys. Gun has been shot and used but is in flawless mechanical condition. Comes with the Sig red-dot sight which seems accurate and functional + 1 30 round mag. Haven't taken it to the range yet but I completely disassembled it and oiled her up and the action is glassy smooth. Also adjusted the trigger a bit and it's actually quite fun to shoot. I'll see if I can dig up a picture...

Caroline McCarthy of New York, in sponsoring legislation that would provide for universal background checks to any individual wishing to buy, sell, or transfer a gun. Similarly, I support legislation that strengthens our ability to track the illegal flow of guns that too often fall through the cracks. This is not a matter of tracking gun ownership for those individuals who legally have the right to possess firearms, but is about identifying illegal activity that threatens our collective safety.
Legislation on gun safety is part, but not all of the solution. Mental illness has been shown to be a factor in some of these mass shootings. Mental illnesses are often misunderstood and under-diagnosed. Health providers need to give mental health the same attention that physical health is given. Congress should direct more research into mental illness and provide more funding for effective care of mentally ill patients. The Mental Health First Act, which I am a cosponsor of, seeks to address the shortfalls that exist in mental health training.
We have not seen the last of violent crimes in our country, but if Congress and the President act, we can make our communities safer and shrink this cycle of violence.

So it would appear that practical rifle, and three gun matches are NOT legitimate uses of high capacity magazines. If we were to use ten round magazines, the anti's would then find some other reason to further "disarm" people. They ought to man up and admit that disarming everyone is their objective. But I am preaching to the choir.

We're staying at the Clover Island Inn, not too bad and cheap. That might be because I'm doing my own tech support on their shitty wifi. We were going to tow the tent trailer and stay onsite, but she's too sick to RO and unwilling to stay home: so we have a nice warm hotel room. Jubilee Youth Ranch Match
For those of you who missed it, you missed out!!! It was an excellent match. A couple miles of hiking all day, and shots from 220 to 1100+ yards. (I think Jesse is still waiting for his .308 bullet to get there.) Positional, doghouse, running back and forth, spinner, doghouse, mover, and the helo. Airborne stage was not for the fainthearted; just after takeoff the pilot cleared a ridge and then let 'er drop over 100 feet and turned hard left. After your stomach was up behind your teeth, it was time to start shooting.
This was Jake's first match, and a fundraiser for Jubilee Youth Ranch. The match went off very well, the kids cooked us a great dinner Saturday and Sunday night as well as breakfast Sunday morning. Jake brought us hamburgers on Saturday and snacks on Sunday.
Weather cooperated, for February. Mid 40s mostly, and a wind that went from near calm to 15mph or more. A lot of people missed the wind, but when shooting across a canyon it's hard to judge. I froze my butt off.
Match was won by Travis Redell, and Jesse took First Place .308, even got a little plaque he'll probably hide out of shame.
For Jakes first match, I'd rate it a solid 10 out of 10, and I'll be there next year.

I echo what Mike had to say, congrats to all who placed well. A great match, well run and for a great cause. Challenging shooting conditions, challenging stages. It was great to see some new faces and all that travelled far, a safe trip home.
I have to say that Jake and the RO's did a great job on this match. Small challenging targets, terrain, and LOTS of wind.

Match is 3-23-13 at North Central Washington Gun Club in East Wenatchee WA. 98802
Sign in starts at 9:00AM.
Must attend safety meeting at10:00AM.
Shooting will start at 10:30AM.
Match will be Saturday and Saturday night only.
There will be a dinner break with dinner provided around 6:00PM. During this time you will need to shoot a course of fire that will take about 1.5 minutes to complete.
After dinner there will be the night stage, starting around 8:00PM and ending around 11:30PM.
Scores will be tallied and prizes distributed by 12:00 midnight.
You will need about 150 rounds. Shots will be from 50 yards to 1300+ yards with most being under 800 yards.
You will have to range some targets with your rifle scope reticle.
There will be 7 day time stages and up to 4 night stages.
You will have to shoot from a moving elevated (~60feet) platform.
This match has a cash payout to the top 5 shooters on a decreasing scale.
There will be a minimal prize table for those that didn’t finish in the top 5.

Great to see all my shooting friends at JC Challenge , the match was great - saw some amazing shooting in high winds on moa targets. Wish i was able to meet and greet more of the shooters - but i had 1 eye in the glass 90% of the time. Thanks to all those that helped score my stage. thank God it didn't rain the trails would be horrible and any miss would be like shooting into pudding and no impact would be seen. ! i need a better RO chair - time to get to Cabelas

Just a reminder... for those of you who expressed interest in shooting 'F-Tactical'... we are having a Fullbore Prone/F-class match next weekend @ NCWGC in East Wenatchee starting @ 0900. 51rds (I'd bring 55 just in case) minimum for the COF, which is 2 convertible sighters plus 15 record shots at 300, 500 & 600yds (i.e. 17 shots at each yardage). Plan on shooting 'pair-fire', which is where two shooters alternate on the same target, instead of 'string fire' which is what you typically see at other HP matches.
Brakes, suppressors, etc. welcome in the 'Tactical' class. No ski bipods. You can single-load or feed from the magazine, your choice, but if checked your ammo must *fit* in your magazine. Figure on registration around 0830, with shooting starting around 0900. $20 entry fee per shooter, juniors 1/2 of adult fee. If we have enough people (i.e. =< 5) in Tactical class, there will be money awards. If there are enough people shooting .223/.308 vs. everything else, we may be able to break it down further. NRA rules don't officially cover such a class, so it will be determined primarily based on turnout.
If you do plan on showing, please email, pm or call me sometime this week so I have some idea who/ how many to plan for.
There is a similar match scheduled for April 21st (Sunday) for those wanting more time to plan.

With winds gusting from 8-25mph Alan and Monte tried to get on steel out to 1340 yards.
Alan was the only one that could ring the 1340 target.
Monte was shooting his 6.5 Creedmore with 123 MK's and Alan was shooting his Rbros built 260 Rem with 142 MK's.
I'll make it over in the next day or two and hit it with my Rbros built 6.5X47Lapua with 130 Berger's.
Here Joe is trying a 308 at a 650 yard target, with the 1340 off in the distance.
With winds gusting from 8-25mph Alan and Monte tried to get on steel out to 1340 yards.
Alan was the only one that could ring the 1340 target.

Yep... very frustrating day, though still fun as heck. Pretty sure my load was subsonic by that 1340 target, as it was kind of randomly spraying the hill side (even with the help from the wind)... probably didn't help that I ran out of elevation and had to hold over w/ the reticle either. Turned the windage knob the wrong way on the closest target... all sorts of fun. Definitely needed that little change-up from my comfort zone.

I suppose this is wishful thinking but looking for 8lb of H4350, getting tired of waiting for my backorder. Also looking for Ruger M77 mannlicher in 308 or 30-06 if anyone knows where there might be one for sale.
