And the dinner chat session afterwards was cool, nice to hang out and bull$hit with other new shooters.

Re: SHWW Group

Scott,
Keep my name on the list, I would love the chance to compete more and gain some better skills. I have access to fab shops, if you get a wild hair to design something.
I really liked the hostage stage, shooting paper at 100 yards seems easy, but add a time limit and shooting weak side and it is a real challenge. Thanks for keeping the course level for the .308 boys.

Sunny, the .308 isn't a handicap when you're shooting it out of a TRG 22.

The match was lots of fun. I took off right after the match when it started to rain. I had to drive back to Portland that night for a BB game. Who won? If TRIBE paid Scott's ticket, I'd suggest we chip in to spread the cost.

I'm up for another match but suggest we all shoot including Scott and anyone else who is there. We can share RO and spotting duties. I can bring some steel targets as well.

Nice job Diggler44!

Re: SHWW Group

Yeah, I think we can simply incorporate "RO-Duty" into it,... Last shooter is first RO, then just share it for the remainder of the stage,... It's all cool,...etc. Input requested,...?

Re: SHWW Group

I just got back home today. Only a 1 hr detour for flooding to set me back! And it was too windy for any birds to be flying! So I didn't get any hunting in. I had a great time, & it was good to put faces to those I've only met on line, & to see those I've met before once again. I'm in for any shoot I can afford to go to. I like the idea of the Diggler's Cup too. Sounds good. I'll be going back over several times to work on a guys Cummins so I might be around for the next shoot. Keep me in the loop. I just got the pics off my camera, & I'll work on getting the vid's, & pics up soon.

Re: SHWW Group

well guys i already designed two more stages that will be longer and from a different locations. they both involve at least 2 locations for each stage. luckily it will only involve a couple more targets. Be prepared for some more modified positions.

I will probably cap it at 20 shooters, 3 groups of seven including me. I had withdrawls from not shooting this weekend.

glad to hear everybody had a good time and is interested in another match. after the mammouth match debacle i was alittle nervous.

Re: SHWW Group

These are low stress events, and I for one, would like to hold on to that vibe.... I like the idea of letting the RO's shoot... or rather, we all share the RO duties, and we all shoot. Unless someone just wants to observe anyway... really shouldn't be that big of a deal... and if you're the type that wants to make it a big deal... this probably ain't your kinda' crew.

Re: SHWW Group

I am currently in the forming process of names and dates for the series of matches.

If any of you want your voice heard in terms of naming our local matches speak now.

I also want all you guys to know that i feel lucky to have a good group of guys to shoot with. After reading the shit storm from some of the other matches held i feel lucky to shoot with a bunch of guys that are truly doing this because they love it and want to get better. which should be the ultimate goal for all of us, because when it really comes down to it you are really only shooting against yourself.

Re: SHWW Group

Can someone PM me an approx location on where these matches would be held, or a nearby town? I want to see how far away this would be. My brother, Joe and im sure hopps could be interested and we could all carpool, or something. Sounds like these could be pretty fun.

no pm neccessary we are 15min south of ellensburg wa or moses lake.

Re: SHWW Group

Thats 3 hours for me and 4 hours for Joe and Hopps. Cant speak for those two guys but thats a ways to drive, especialy when we have 1k+ on the olympic peninsula that is within a half hour, and the steal up at at hopps is close too.

The idea of the series sounds really cool. It would be neat to have them all linked together and coordinated, there could probably be one happening somewhere almost every other weekend. For instance the jim the plumber match, people could go to that and earn points that could count in this series also, just as long as they were scaled correctly.

Re: SHWW Group

Scott I think you will come with a sutiable name for the matches, a little off topic but benchrest and target shooting actually got an early start up here and was called Puget Sound Sniper Congress, I think you can do a little better than that. Now a question for everyone, I am going to shoot the Plumbers Cup with John (Mac37), I am going to shoot the carbine portion. Now I would like some input on a scope for a carbine that will work for the match. Illuminated, non-illuminated variable fixed anything input.
Thanks Marty

Re: SHWW Group

I have been "wheel turning" as that is about all that funds allow currently. But I would imagine that the SHWW Cup would suffice for a Grand Prix style score card? Granted it would have to be signed off by Frank for the "SH" of SHWW. But I can have Tshirts made again (still have the list) and the PA spot is year round as far as I am aware so it is just a matter of time to set them up. It is alot more than you would think to set up a match and mine was not even very big. Big ups to diggler on his match!!

Kinda playing in the background but the Lego's will form somthing eventually!

brother roll with the bushnell 3-12 ffp it would be perfect and it is what i will be putting on mine.

I am going to let the name idea's run until the end of the weekend at which point i will choose a name.

thanks guys

Re: SHWW Group

Hello everyone
smile.gif

Ive been following this thread for while,as well as other posts by guys who post here in the western washington-pacific northwest area. Looks like alot of you guys are really cool and laid back.

I live in Tumwater,Wa. I usally go up to capitol forest to shoot, but with more people out there, finding safer places to shoot is getting hard. Im looking for nice fairly flat area atleast 4-500 meters where I can shoot my bolt gun and ar15. Out to 1000 would be awesome, but I imagine thats wishing on a miracle. I do hear you guys talk about some ninja spot near Forks, I could be down for that everyonce in awhile, but for daily shooting thats alittle far, so anything within 50 miles from Olympia that offers something out to say least 500 would be sweet.

As for me, Im going to school for computer networking, going to try the less violent way of making a living. Im 30 years old, and was in the Army as a sniper 2nd ID,1-25th.

Im just getting back into shooting, and got myself a budget shooter-Savage 10fp with Choate tacical stock-10x42 swfa ss mil dot scope,Harris bipod. The stock is alright, but will upgrade it soon, I adjust the trigger to around 3 lb, and Iam satisfied with it.

Anyways hoping to see some feedback on places to shoot, it would be most welcomed. Thank you.

Welcome aboard and stay tuned to this thread as a lot of spur of the moment "matches" / shooting get togethers seem to pop up.

Re: SHWW Group

Scott, diggler44, sorry Team-Send-It, christ now I am all confused, guess I will have to change your number in my phone from diggler to Send it. Anyways Team Send It, not a bad name for the matches Scott. Are you by chance building a gas gun too.

Re: SHWW Group

diggler is gone for good adam and i decieded on Team Send It alittle while ago so i figured why keep it in hiding anymore. Team Send It will be rocking matching 6 dasher tube guns for this years matches. I think the dasher is possibly the smallest caliber you can use in most of the matches, however i think it will open some eyes to the benefits of the 6mmbr based cartridges.
