Sig 2400ABS vs 2400BDX

Just wonder what's the real difference between these 2 rangefinders from Sig Sauer.

Seems both are high end models. From what I can tell, the ABS model is connect to external device using Bluetooth to display info and/or calculate data? And the BDX can also be paired with a Sig scope to display the ballistics information? But the price difference is about $500 (on OpticsPlanet)

And any one uses either model, is it necessary to work with a Kestrel meter?

At least the price told me there are some big differences.

So if BDX+Kestrel would be kind of equivalent to ABS model which has everything built-in, correct?

Haven't used an Kestrel yet. Would the BDX+Kestrel combination be a better choice than the ABS model's all in one solution? Or it's a personal preference thing?

I use the ABS model and we shot to 1760 the other day and it ranged and give me a solution in bright sun light, if you already have a Kestrel then get the BDX if not the ABS. My .02

I believe the 2400BDX lacks direction of fire as well?

Anyone using a Kestrel/BDX combo, how do you put the DOF into the Kestrel? Do you just go into the target and ask the Kestrel to update it's own DOF for the ranged target that the BDX sent it?

The BDX provides range and angle, you still need to use the Kestrel to acquire DOF and wind. Also, the ABS has no wind capture like the Kestrel so you would need to determine and enter that.

I saw the ABS having a wind meter, that would capture the wind info?

The Weather flow meter is included but is a separate device you can hold, too, or attach to your earphone port on your phone and hold that. In either case it it two devices to get the Sig to show wind.

Will connect to BDX rifle scopes.

So BDX+Krestel pretty much is functioning like a ABS.

yes, you will have the full AB solver, full environment and wind and the results will display in the kestrel and BDX.
