Sig 716 Precision Sniper???

Re: Sig 716 Precision Sniper???

I remebering reading a shot show report that said earliest US release would be early 2011, but could be longer.
I wouldnt rush out and buy one though, I bought my 556 when they first came out and within a year Sig was offering special incentives to purchase and prices had dropped by about 40%.

K got a ways to go then... I need a deer hunting rifle and that seems perfect for me. im sick of my Rem 700. I never liked them from the beginning, they just were popular and performed extremely well. Allright well thanks for the info ill check again around then

Re: Sig 716 Precision Sniper???

I've stopped trusting Sig's ability to make quality firearms about 6 years ago. The first hints of problems came with the initial production of GSR 1911 pistols that had significant QC issues. Then, their P2XX series of pistols took a dive in 2006. Now, the 556 series of rifles ship with cheap Chi-com accessories and are poorly balanced with horrible ergos. Interestinly, this decline seems to coincide with a change in company leadership.

I'd stay away from any initial lease until it is vetted by the less wise.

Its a little late I just picked up my Sig R516 lmao. Let's hope it works out good. Red dot seems weak..... havn't put any thru it yet thugh. Im thinking about building an AR instead f wating for the 716. I can build a god one which would probably be a better rifle.

Re: Sig 716 Precision Sniper???

Humboldtcounty,
I would not be too worried. Sig has seen a rise in QC problems, but this does not mean every Sig is a lemon. Trust your instincts and put 5000 rouns thru the rifle before trusting it with you life. Also, ditch the cheap Chinese optic for a real Aimpoint T1.
