Today I decided to buy 100rds of Sig 77gr 223 Rem ammo to shoot in my Seekins 3G2 rifle. I have been shooting the IMI Razorcore Ammo and the rifle/I like it but my wallet wants a better value. I’ve tried Magtech but not as good as IMI in my rifle. Black Hills puts gold in their powder. Decided to try Sig. It’s cost is below IMI and above Magtech. The box says 2,750 for what it’s worth so it’s close to IMI. Has anyone shot it? What do you think? I have a 1-8 barrel in 223 Wylde. It likes the 77gr SMK. Let me know what you think or have been seeing in the ammo. Thanks!

Haven't shot it but interested in results. My reloading stuff is all packed up now so I snagged some 69 grain and 77 grain IMI on the crackhead midway deals .....77 IMI shoots LIGHTS OUT

2,850fps. Dang that’s not good. I guess they were using a 24” test barrel. Well I guess I’ll have to try it in mine. If it doesn’t work out, then I’ll plink with it and stay with IMI. I just wish something would shoot fast and well. I shot the FGMB and it was good but slow. I need speed and good SDs.

It’s slow. The couple of lot numbers I chrono’d were in the 2400’s from a 16” barrel. Accuracy tends to be good (.8 MOA from a 5.56 Lothar Walther 16” / 1.5 MOA from 16” ballistic advantage 5.56 govt profile), but I did come across one sample that was horrible (about double in group size).

How much of a price difference between the two? i've shot a few matches with the IMI shit and am really happy with it. Maybe you just have two sets of dope; one for plinking and one for more serious stuff. Also, there was a whole bunch of manufacturers using the 77gr. Sierras once Black Hills got the nod from the military. LAX ammo, Fiochi and PMC all use the same formula for a reasonable price. You might just buy a few brands and try 'em out.

Black Hills or handloads are your sweetest huckleberries.

I agree with Montanaman on this one. I shoot B/H 5.56mm 77gr. TMK's and shot it out of my W.O.A. 18" (1-n-8, Wylde) Bull BBL AR and got 2640- 2650fps. thru my buddies chrono., on a 70deg. day. The other ammo that worked well, was Gorilla Match .223 77gr. SMK's and it's my second go-to factory ammo to use (no M.V. for that, out of same BBL). A little bit cheaper, but accurate. Mac(y)
