Anyone else disappointed with the Sig P226 basepads? I have about a dozen Beretta M9 mags I was putting new Beretta replacement basepads on ($5 direct from Beretta). The beretta pads are hard plastic with steel lips ... good stuff from what I have seen so far. The stock Sig basepads I got with the 2 mags with the pistol were steel and 2 other Sig mags I got from Midway have the same steel basepad but with a ~1/8" rubber cover on the bottom (improvement, but still doesn't seem very durable. I tried the Beretta basepad on the Sig mag and though a little tight ... they fit well, lock in place and feel better on the pistol. No effect on function as of yet and more on durability, but they sure do work pretty well so far.

I like the steel ones like came with the W. German Pistols.

I have a few rubber covered ones which are the same, just rubber glued to them.

I prefer the Plastic Beretta plates over the older aluminum on the 92FS mags. I did not know they would fit SIG.

I dont have a problem with either the metal 7rnd or plastic 8rnd
    base plates.
    .
HOWEVER the plastic on the 10rnd mags are pure POS's. After a few times on the range *4x at the most* dropping onto asphalt or
cement caused the base to become dislodged.
    .
Yes its hitting a hard surface HOWEVER with those minor impacts
it shouldn't be happening. I wont be using them anymore an caution those who do.
