Hi Everyone.

So I’ve been going back and forth between the sig P320 x5 and the standard full size P320. I got my hands on both of them but did not have the opportunity to shot either. I don’t competition shoot, but love the looks and feel of the X5. This would really be a night stand / range gun. Maybe down the road it would get into competitions, but at the present time, I don’t see that happening in the near future. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

I have a couple of coworkers who have both guns. I have put a few rounds through each. The X5 has a softer recoil impulse and less muzzle flip due to the added weight. I haven’t put both on a timer to quantify split differences however. For a range gun, the X5 would be the better choice. If you were to get the X5 as a home defense gun, I would look into vetting the adjustable rear sight for durability.

Also, one gear thing with an X5 to keep in mind is holster compatibility. I believe my coworkers had to modify their Safariland P320 holsters to accommodate the X5.

Have an X5. Probably close to 6k though it in IDPA, USPSA, and 3Gun. It has never ever let me down. Extremely happy with the gun. I much prefer the feel of the x5 grip module than the regular FS. As far as the duribilitu of the rear sight I wouldnt worry. Zero issues here.

I waited hoping Sig would release a .40 X5 slide / barrel but it never happened. I want to shoot Major PF in USPSA so I wound up buying a regular FS .40 slide and barrel and magazines / extensions. Bought a tungsten guide rod and I've only got 1 box of ammo through it but it seems to handle better than I expected. We'll see.

I put an X-Carry frame on a full size 320. SIG calls it their X-Full. I like it better than the OEM grip.

Thanks for help. I like the grip of the X5 better. I also found one new for $699 which seems to be a pretty good deal. I just wasn’t sure if it’s overkill since I don’t plan to do competition shooting.
