Will this range steel at a mile? Anyone with real world experience?

^^ My unit will not reliably range steel at a mile . Bright sunshine is an issue . Got a return
at 3100 at night on a building , but I don’t shoot buildings ... Best return off steel is at 2300
but with an X of reflective tape across the 20 inch gong . It’s reliable to around 1000 in all
conditions on steel . Leica 2700 has proved a lot more reliable and consistent .
