Just got the new Sinclair catalog and see this scope in there. Own a number of smaller Sightrons and they are excellent scopes. This scope appears to be very reasonable given the features and flexibility.
Wondering of any members of the hide have tried it. I am especially concerned about clarity at higher magnifications as this will be on a 1000 yard rifle.
Thanks in advance !

The search function is your friend, has been hundreds of post on here about that. Good luck getting it, I ordered a 8-32moa five weeks ago on swfa and it's still not in.

Sightron 10-50x60 ...... hmmm, did a search, looked at 4 pages, found 3 references to this scope. None were hands' on reports.

On your 8-32, you should have gone to Amazon, no shortage of them there.

Re: Sightron 10-50x60mm Target Dot Reticle SIII LR

I have owned one since they first were released. It works just fine for its intended purposes. The only complaint is a touchy eyebox when dialed to max.....but guess that's to be expected for the magnification and price point. Clarity...pretty decent actually....probably not nearly the clarity at the top end...say as an IOR Terminator is...but there's a huge price difference.

This scope serves very well for my BR shooting needs...although I'm thinking I might move into something else. For the money, this scope is a very strong value and has performed flawlessly for me.

I will warn you that this scope is a pretty large beast. Here's a picture of the 8-32X above the 10-50X to compare directly:

Re: Sightron 10-50x60mm Target Dot Reticle SIII LR

I found it fairly dark and fuzzy over 30x, over 40x I could see details better by turning it down, the big issue is the AO went out after a couple hundred rounds, knob spun but nothing happened, sightron has had it for a few weeks but I have not heard anything back from them.

Re: Sightron 10-50x60mm Target Dot Reticle SIII LR

I've been thinking about the 8x32 for P-dogging and F-class competition. It concerns me that more retailers don't carry them. Any idea why that is?

Re: Sightron 10-50x60mm Target Dot Reticle SIII LR

the 10-50 is enormous for a scope, I have had the 8-32 for a couple years now and it is plenty of scope for F class and it has served me well at 1000 and under. I see no reason to get anything else, tracking is perfect and repeatable clarity is excellent and price is very nice too.

Re: Sightron 10-50x60mm Target Dot Reticle SIII LR

I have two of the Sightron 10-50x60's with target dots. One is on a custom 6BR and the other is on a 338 LM. These are great scopes and I haven't had any issues with either of them. They are both cranked up to 50 power most of the time. They are better than the spotting scope we use at the range.

With a 500 yard zero - I have another 32 MOA of adjustment left in the scope (using a 20 MOA base). With 105gr VLD bullets this gets me to 1,200 yards.

Re: Sightron 10-50x60mm Target Dot Reticle SIII LR

That's good. I thought about getting the 10-50 for my LAR-8 .308. I didn't think I would get much range out of it. I like to keep my scopes mounted low so I don't have to put my chin on top of the butt stock to shoot.

You may have some issues there. The bell diameter is 2.72" without the scope cover attached. Your rings would have to be higher than 1.36".
I love this scope. like stated earlier the eyebox is the only issue I'm having. The reticle is very small and hard to pick up at times.

Re: Sightron 10-50x60mm Target Dot Reticle SIII LR

I just traded an SIII 8-32x56 LR/MD (mil/mil) for a Kimber .22 Sporter.

I'm pretty sure I'm going to replace the scope with an SIII 8-32x56 LRMOA (MOA/MOA.)

I like the MOA reticle better for my new F-Class build.

If the 6-24 was available in a 56mm tube, I'd probably get it instead, as I have a hard time with the smaller exit pupils at 32X.

I'm seeing Sightrons show up in the match results pages, and I find that pretty encouraging.

Re: Sightron 10-50x60mm Target Dot Reticle SIII LR

I sold my Sightron SIII 8-32x56 MilDot and bought the LRMOA reticle.

I just received my SIII 8-32x56 LRMOA scope today from SWFA (thanks Chris). I look forward to putting it on my Savage F T/R and hopefully winning some matches.

I have used the Sightron for over a year and have zero complaints.

Re: Sightron 10-50x60mm Target Dot Reticle SIII LR

I also just bought a Sightron SIII 8-32x56 with the LRMOA reticle. Just got it mounted on the 338LM. I haven't been to the range with it yet though. I want to see how it compares to my 10-50X60 Sightrons. I hope I don't miss the extra magnification and 1/8" clicks.

This is exactly what I did, my SIII got here yesterday though. Gun is having a new trigger installed, I'll pick it up tonight and shoot a couple hundred rounds this weekend.

Savage 10fcp in choate tactical, 18" barrel, fte brake, ugly, mean looking little SOB.

The SIIIs with the LRMOA reticle (6-24x & 8-32x) are popular and seemed to be sold out at most places until recently. I found one last week and the prices seem to be going up.

Re: Sightron 10-50x60mm Target Dot Reticle SIII LR

i just put a 8-32 fine crosshair on my .308.laid it up beside a buddies rifle to do a side by side comparison with his s&b. the bender had a little better clarity than the sightron, but for the cost difference, i can get 2 or 3 more and it wasnt that much better(clarity) to me. i ordered mine from a local gunshop on wed. this past week and got a call it was in of fri. before noon.

Re: Sightron 10-50x60mm Target Dot Reticle SIII LR

Tested out the Sightron SIII 8-32x56 LRMOA on the 338 Lapua. All I can say is wow. After sighting in - I spent the whole day shooting with holdovers only (no turret clicking) and the reticle was dead on. I really like this scope.

Re: Sightron 10-50x60mm Target Dot Reticle SIII LR

I've got three 10-50s, one target dot that I bought when they first came out, and recently two LRMOAs. I really like the MOA reticle, the floating dot for precision and hashes for holdover/correction. The clarity/resolution is good, my NR BR 12-42s just barely beat them at 600 yard matches. I've had no problems with tracking/return to zero. The newer 'tactical' turrets are very nice compared to the covered turrets on my dot reticle scope.

+1 with everything he said.

I tested mine on the Savage 12 F T/R .308 and very pleased with this scope.
