Shhhh how is it supposed to be a secret if you tell everyone silver sharpies are awesome?

They are great to mark your mags and if you decide you want to remove it a little paint thinner or acetone will take it right off. I keep one of these along with a black sharpie in my data book.
I actually use these when doing HV cable terminations to write on the black cable and make marks. Never considered actually marking a turret with one though.
All of my mags are marked with the Silver Beast...Makes it easy when doing drills and firing in a line to tell the difference between glock .40 mags when everyones are scattered everywhere.
two weeks ago, 2 day pistol class, day one...the common question was "is this yours or myne?" day two..with the aid of a silver sharpie, it was "hey mother fucker, give me my mag back!".

I have not had any issues with the marks rubbing off on my turrets not sure about plastic mags...
Mine have been marked for well over a year with rough training and mag drops to the ground every month. It has definitely faded but still clearly legible in my glock mags.
I put mu mark into a recess on my AR pmags and they have held up a lot better.
Yes they work very well and stay put for quite some time really! I use em for all sorts of stuff and try to keep one or two in with my gear.
I keep a black one and a silver one in my pocket all the time anymore. I think it's just about the ideal balance of "stays on" and "I can get it off if I need to". I do use the silver more than black.
They are a lot handier (and I feel better about buying) than red nail polish for marking sights, turrets, screw positions, mags, etc.
