Simple Barricade Stop for Bergara B14R?

What's the simplest barricade stop for a Bergara B14R with a factory stock?

I just want a very simple stop to prevent pressure on the magazine causing misfeeds when shooting from awkward positions in PRS matches.

Some rails like the Area 419 attach using the front action screw. Is there anything to stop me having a simple L shaped stop attached to the front action screw?
(Obviously a longer action screw would be needed.)

I don't want a chassis stock and don't need an Arca rail.

Anyone done a stop like this before?

Essentially you can make this sans the arca clamp. Get a piece of aluminum bar at Home Depot and have at it. I used nothing but hand tools and bent it by clamping it in a vise.

Have you tried a PRS match and had failures?

Even if the stock screw was sufficient, you need something for anti-rotate. Since the forces will be rearward,
a horse shoe shape around the magazine would be best. You don't want your home made stop peeling off of your gun.
In any case, you will need to have a special / longer stock screw made to try and do what you suggest.

I see no good way to firmly attach a stop without adding holes. If you would add two holes, it would be "so simple,
a child could do it" (Dr. McCoy) A piece of flat stock about .75" thick to screw to the gun and buy the $35.00 ARCA stop
to bolt to that. You can go cheaper but that will take more time and wont have the professional visual appeal.

I would buy the 4.25" ARCA rail ( $45.00) and clamp and stop assembly (100.00) for a total of $145.00
That would require two holes.

You could save a chunk of money if you went with the fixed stop. Rail, 45.00 and fixed stop $40.00 ( $85.00 total )
By fixed, they mean you need tools to adjust it's location.

Both designs would put the face of the stop about 2.5" in front of the magazine.

I've had a couple of jams in PRS matches caused by pressure on the magazine. Fortunately both times I pulled the rifle back a bit and the round went into the chamber.

Trying options not to have to drill extra holes first. A longer action screw is no problem. I can get them at a local shop.

Ok... I just had an idea.
I understand your desire to not drill holes but I suspect that you may be open to repurposing a couple.
You could make a long stop that would use your front stock bolt and another about 200mm farther forward
that is currently used for the aft sling swivel.

That would also protect your stock from wear and tear of the barricades.

Taking that a step farther, you may consider using both swivel stud holes and leaving the stock attach screw alone.
That would leave you with about 50mm clearance to the front of the mag.... or what ever distance you like.

In either case, you could still use the sling studs... if you use them at all.
I have sketched both of them at about 200mm as a starting point.

One last thing.... there is some really cool interlocking fastener stuff similar to Velcro. It uses mushrooms on both sides
and has a holding power of about 8 pounds per square inch. I'm pretty certain that it would hold your stop to the gun
if you were willing to give it a try. it may be perfect for your needs. You would need to remove the stop by starting from
one end and peeling it off. I see your avatar appears to be New Z. If your actually in the USA, I would be happy to send you some.

I'm thinking about doing the same.

The only non-diy option I'm seeing is the grey ops one, and the seems purpose made for the MPA shaped chassis.

Had the Aera419 for a while then switched to the Grey Ops version. Best one so far to protect the magazine from issues pushing against mag on certain props.

The Grey Ops one seems to be the only thing that will actually stop a bag from interfering with the magazine, the rest of them are just normal barricade stops.
