I'm trying to decide to buy my reloading table into maybe more of a desk so I can sit there and work. What do you guys do? pictures are great but measurements are also good including your height, chair height and work surface height. just trying to improve ergonomics.

You can build for standing and get a tall chair. I built for sitting but I sometimes stand anyway. My desk surface is 33" off the floor.

Sitting sucks when you realize you should have put just a little more lube on that case that is binding up half way into the sizing die. I built my bench for standing, and have a tall stool for when I feel like sitting.

I tend to sit when using my progressive and stand when using my single stage. I am 6’2 and these heights seem to work great for me. Bench top height- 37” and bar stool height - 23” The first bench that I built was 34” tall and I had to bend over a little bit when standing and it really got to my back after loading for a couple hours.

I stand unless I'm doing trimming/measuring. Inline Fab quick change Ultramount is the business.

I tapped my coffee table and sit at my couch in front of the tv. I use a forster which has the handle over the top. If I had a rock chucker it wouldn’t be quite as nice but it would still beat standing and staring at a wall.

Used to sit at the first couple reloading benches. The last reloading bench I built a couple years ago is standing height. Top of bench is 38" high. Dillon presses are on strong mounts which puts them 9 or 10 inches taller. Built a riser for the turret and single stage presses to also raise them 9-10 inches above the bench top.
I am 6' and this is the perfect height for me.
I now much prefer standing vs sitting while reloading. I like the birds-eye view better to confirm powder charges on the progressive presses and the leverage just feels better while running the presses. Got some of that soft rubber matting to stand on that is real comfortable.

The benefit is I can also sit if desired with an adjustable height swivel-type bar stool/chair.
Definitely recommend building the bench standing height so you have the option to sit or stand.

I sit using single stage and sit or stand using progressive on a strong mount. The longer throw and faster pace of the progressive makes standing a little better.

If you want a good chair with lots of adjustability, look at drafting chairs at office supply stores.

I sit for everything i do... my bench is a little lower so it's comfy when sitting in a normal computer rolling chair... thats with a single stage and with my lnl ap

Stand for everything too. I even use a versadesk at work. I don’t mind it and honestly feel better standing than sitting. If I sit I tend to slouch and have bad posture, which leads to back pain.

Sitting is bad for you....
If I ever have a dedicated bench, it will be at standing height. And there'll be a tall stool to lean against. Cannot easily manage that in the current apartment.

Brass prep (sort, prime, deburr and chamfer, trim if needed), powder charge, ect. standing at a bench with the height at a comfortable level (41" IIRC) - I'm 5' 15" tall.

Brass press work (deprime, size, and bullet seating) sitting. My bench is not rigid enough to not have any movement when operating the press, so the Lee Tripod press mount with a 40# block of concrete on the lower hangars works well, just too damn low.

If you have a bad back standing is a no brainer. This solution got me standing and I use a tall bar stool for fatigue. Note the 2-35# dumbbell ballasts on top of the bench and I got the bench from Home Depot for $30.00. This solution got me out of a hot Arizona summer garage and standing. Not pretty but it works?

Winter solution and more practical for large caliber.

I posted earlier, the bench or table I sit at is 37" high, my stool height is 29", so my view is the same as standing at a 41" high bench, I need to look down on my work. I cannot sit at the two 41" high benches and be comfortable, I need to stand.
I know a lot of you guys utilize the inline fab mounts, because of the footprint, and the fact I built my benches to desired heights for presses, etc.... I just have no use for them.

I can hardly ever sit down anyway so I stand , more importantly make the bench fit your comfortable working height . Varidesk has made millions off this simple idea , WHY THE FUCK did'nt I think of that ? .
