Site Changes Coming Monday!

We are gonna tone down the tags,

With the this site being so active, when we tested it, hardly anything moved so the colors were just there, now with the site live and everyone using it, the colors are far too bold

I see two major changes,

The Category names need to be chilled out a bit, flat colors and organized then the Filter Tags will go Flat and make sense,

Like

Firearms = Shade of Red
Optics = Shade of Blue
NV = Shade of Green
Reloading = Shade of Brass

Stuff like that which will make sense, it's one thing to picture how it work, it's another thing to see it working

We'll adjust a bit that is the point, envision the changes, make the changes, adjust the changes

Absolutely love the combined threads.

My thoughts regarding the color tags immediately went to the thoughts in your post when I saw them. Color coding based on categories

Not sure what other platforms look like but very busy on my end with all the colors as well

Thank you for all you do to make this better for us!

Is there a way to filter to only see the threads that do not have an existing prefix?

For example: In The Armory, I would only like to see the threads that have "No-Prefix" associated with them. As in those that do not have "Gunsmithing," "Sidearms, Scatter Guns, and K-Bars," or "Suppressors" as prefixes.

In other words, just wanting to see what was the old "Equipment/Accessories" section.

Just a thought. Could the available prefixes (ex. Rifle Scopes, Night Vision) for a particular section (ex. Observation & Sighting Devices) be shown in the filter bar as buttons/cards that can be clicked? The card could then be highlighted if clicked with an "x" in the upper right hand corner of the card (like what currently happens after applying a filter prefix) which could remove the prefix filter and return the user to the combined view of all prefixes for the section. Hopefully that makes sense.

Thinking is it is quicker to filter to a particular prefix and get users back to the sub-section view from before the update. The filter drop down could still remain on the right side of the bar with all of the other options.

Remember gents, this update was for the moderators to get a handle on a runaway forum. I'm sure there will be a continuing evolution but they had to have a starting point. Give them time.

Not a fan of the combined exchange. Have to dig a lot now to find things I'm interested in. 11 pages of topics posted today alone so far. Search feature works if I'm looking for something specific, but casual browsing and buying is much more taxing now in my opinion.

EDIT: See a few posts down. You can filter the exchange.

is it possible(jus a suggest...) to have the site link to my Kurig, so I can auto make coffee whilst I scroll? it dosent need to happen in the next five minutes or so, cause my cup is still pretty full... (ps I hate change, not a computer person, and even I have adapted easily to the site changes!,:)

Well, it's almost been an entire week and I don't believe anyone has committed suicide because of the changes that were made. I think we've all learned that life will go one despite our favorite forum being turned on it's head, well kind of....

It’s always a good time to clean house, those escorted to the door are quickly forgotten because of the distractions

Less than 20 were discouraged from sticking around, if you want to troll me on a regular basis, or feel the need to poison the well before the changes are complete, you were encourage to find a new place to hang out. Those discouraged to hang around will go off into the recesses of the internet and use it as badge of honor, for at least 10 days they will be big men on campus telling everyone what an Asshole I am

On another note, I added KBars back to the Armory Section, so that drop down is included super quick fix and the model for moving forward,

So, @Starbuck your KBar link is working
