i am looking to build an elevated enclosed hunting blind for my hunting partner who is getting to old to handle the weather extremes. Know of any good sites or links to a good book that I could get some ideas. All your help would be greatly appreciated!

Ameristep has come out with a new pop-up blind platform.
You erect the steel platform and then put the blind on top. Platform height is 60". You get a stable base (little short ladder inside), and the comfort of the blind.
Wal-Mart carries the platform bundle for $248.

Here's one we built this year. Cost around $350-$400 unless you have some scrap materials. Has 2x2 frame covered with OSB walls, tilt in 3/16" glass windows (can be cut to size by local glass store), 2x4 floor joists with 3/4" plywood decking, and 29ga roof with 2x2 rafters and 1/4" decking. 8' railroad ties used for legs (buried 3'). It's 5' wide X 4' deep. I'd go at least 5' X 6' if 2 people were hunting. Put a piece of carpet on the floor to deaden sound.
