I read somewhere that you should size fresh lapua brass.... getting ready to load and need to know if I should size it or just load it????? Any other prep I should do on fresh brass???

I size mine....there are always some in the box that take noticeably more force to FL size. Doesn't take long and I know everything is sized the same.

i have never sized factory ammo before firing........i figure lapua brass has got to be at least as good as winchester white box, lol
seriously just load and shoot tho.

I "Fireform" the brass the first time, then FL size everytime after that.

I run them through my neck die, which gets any of the dents out and uniforms them.

For my Grendel I must size them.
Straight from the box to the hand primer, charge, seat for my bolt guns.

With the way my die is set up this does not bump back anything, but rather just runs the expander past the neck

I neck size them only the first time around. Need to get that neck tension uniform and straighten those dings out. It is fruitless to FL size, bc the shoulder is already knocked back quite a bit out of the box.

I just got 500 and sized them all because there were some dings and why not get them all as uniform as they can be? After spending the money for the best brass, I figure why not take the time to assure that they will be as accurate as possible.

Remember shooting brass isn't what causes most of the wear sizing it is.
