Create a channel Learn moreThanks for this. Using the 0.132 BC per Strelok and LabRadar chrono data, I found my Wolf Match Extra (Lapua/SK sourced, reportedly same as SK Rifle Match) had to be trued by almost 70fps (1066 actual chrono, 1133 trued) at 50 degrees F. While I have not trued by varying BC instead of velocity (yet - rifle is new and I had a match yesterday), this BC / trued velocity combination works. Yesterday's match consisted of 60 targets (20 each at 50, 100, and 150 yards). The smallest targets at each range were 2MOA or slightly less in smallest dimension. I cleaned all three ranges except for a single 100-yard "challenge" target, and I'm pretty sure I twitched just enough on that one to miss.It is the same bullet than with Lapua Center X or Midas, but BC is highly velocity dependant.
I was measuring with radar up to 100m and 0,174 correspond to velocity drop pretty well. However even on 150 and 200m the 0,132 was much more correct for both drift and elevation.
Guys at FinAccuracy did an extensive test for longer ranges 300 and and 350m where 0,122 was better match. It is worth checking their section devoted to 22LR trainer.
Long range 22LR trainer - how to get best out of it?
22LR rifles have always been very popular. Most of us have one sitting in safety. Some of us have also spent quite a bit hard-earned money to make their small rimfire feel and look similar to favorite big center-fire. All in sake of realistic low-budget training. It is also not too uncommon to...finnaccuracy.com
So, for medium distance, we use the 0.132 as overall best average.
SK Match=Lapua Club=Wolf ME. Same lines, same machines, different boxes.
Not anymore. New Wolf ammo is produced by Eley.
Reviving old thread. Can anybody advise what group size I should expect at 100 and 200 yards with SK Match? Or I picked up some Lapua Center X and RWS Special Match, so if you have used them, please post it up.
My reading in the posts above is that BC = 0.132 should give me my 100 and 200 elevations from a 50 yard zero?
Rifle is a Tikka T1x.
