Sling ideas

I want to get a sling for my AR. I'll be using it mostly for hunting coyotes. I really want more of a hunting type of sling set up and since this is my first AR I don't really know what options are out. I'm looking to mount the sling somewhere on the buttstock and on the foregrip. So I'm looking for advice on what devices I should get to mount it and what type of sling to get.
Here's the rifle it will go on.

Thanks.

Re: Sling ideas

You have a quick disconnect on your stock.Get one of the same type attachments that mounts to the rail. Then you can use what ever sling you like. You will have to get a sling attachment for the stock. The one for the front comes with the mount.Hope this helps

Re: Sling ideas

Three 2-point slings I would check out are ...

Vickers VCAS
Emdom Gunslinger
Ares Armor Huskey

They are well regarded tactical slings, but should also be good for hunting.

I like using standard QD attachment points, but it seems to be a largely personal preference thing.

Re: Sling ideas

I have the viking tactic's sling on mine, mounted as others have said with the qd mounts. Plugs right into the silver hole in your stock an either into your forearm or slap an adaptor on it an it can go into that. Can be carried in a traditional manner *over shoulder* or muzzle down *cross body/front* and is VERY easy an quick to adjust.
.
Worked great for me when I was using it in TX back in the spring.

Re: Sling ideas

I really like tried and true national match sling. Easily adjustable with a lot of options. Also is thick enough joy can hold positions longer than the thinner slings.

Re: Sling ideas

I run my Slip Cuff Quick Release slings on my ARs and hunting rifles. It allows fast adjustments and the ability to take a quick precise shot. The typical AR Slings just wont do much past carry the rifle

Vickers Combat App and Lambs slings are also a good choice. They also allows precise shootoing and carry

These are just two I found quick. Of course all depends on how much money you want to spend. Also to note is that they are made just like slings in regards to 1" or 1.25". </div></div>
