Hi Guys,

Not being lazy, 'cos I just went through 8 pages of search results, and 90% of the returns are in the "for sale" forum. Not what I need!

Looking for a recommendation for a sling...

Rem 700 in Manners T5a with cups for sling attachment on the right and left side.

Intend to carry the rifle more than shoot it with the sling, going to have the sling on the left side of the rifle so the bolt doesn't dig into my back!

90% of shots will be off the bipod, but I may have to shoot standing, or more likely kneeling.

Application is as a hunting rifle (stupid heavy for it, but it is super accurate!). Has a Vortex Razor HD on the top, so total AUW is around the 15lb mark.

Need recommendations for a good 'tactical' sling, primarily to carry the rifle, but secondary as a shooting aid.

Never used a sling as a shooting aid before, so will also take advice on that as well.

Looking for "earthy" colours as the stock is painted in MTP (Some of you may have seen it already, Todd did the paint job and posted here already).

Thanks Guys,

N

Re: Sling Recommendation

I just got a national match sling by turner and really like it for off hand shooting. It is comfortable to carry with too.

Re: Sling Recommendation

Go back to the endless FOR SALE listings that your search came up with. Find the most popular ones there, and look for something else.........

Re: Sling Recommendation

I run a Mountain Shooter sling and works great for hunting. I won't use it for "tactical" and shooting aid much so I prefer this sling as it doesn't have the plastic buckles to deal with but can use for support if needed.

Re: Sling Recommendation

I run the Vickers padded sling on my carbines. On my precision rig, I run a TAB. It's got the cuff. I do wish the TAB had some padding at the top, since I carry this rifle quite a bit. Actually this morning for about 2 miles. But the TAB gives the shooter really great position shooting options.

IMO anyway.

+1

I have the flush cup swivels. Awesome sling! You can get it from Rifles Only.

Re: Sling Recommendation

I like the Viking Tactics (VTAC) Rifle slings with this bad boy on it.
