So I'm getting the details sorted for my budget 700 on a new Mcree stock and I need swivels. Are there any quality differences between something like the Mcrees at $27, Uncle Mikes at $18, VLTOR at $15 and UTG at $9?

Thanks

P.S. Mcrees Precision was fantastic to work with. I wish their online package deal allowed me to pick the color but the desert tan is fine since I don't need to hide from bad guys these days.

Mcrees rear stock bag

Re: Sling Swivels

I actually looked at a lot of the sling swivels. By far the best value are the Talon made by Outdoor Connection. Much cheaper than Uncle Mikes, one piece steel with spring loaded opening for detaching. I think you can get them for around $10/pair and they are guaranteed forever by the manufacturer. PM me if you need more info, or can't find them online.

Also, just to be clear, your talking about the sling swivels, not the swivel posts right?

By the way, I have a Tactical Interventions Quick-Cuff sling as well and I love it, makes going into and out of prone so much easier.

Re: Sling Swivels

So the only thing I found were the push button type post + swivel units. That's what I want. I'm not completely sure about where I want to mount these since I'm still new to the tactical precision competition scene so this should give me the ability to fool around at the range testing configurations as much as I want. It also lets me purchase an extra set to put on my nice padded hunting sling for the farm. I just want to ensure the quality is there so I don't dump my rifle while running to a position during a comp.

Re: Sling Swivels

I have sold many thousands of swivels on my slings over the years.

The worse thing to happen in swivel industry ever was when Uncle Mike's off shored to China. UTG and Uncle Mikes are China Made and POS in my opinion.

The folks who where laid off at Michaels started a company called grovtec. They makes McRess Push Button/Flush Cup swivels and most everyone elses US made Flush Cup swivels. These are the ones I put on my slings as well. Triad Tactical also sells these so look there for a price.

Re: Sling Swivels

Thanks Mike

I got my Quick Cuff at Triad Tactical and had a good experience with them as well as with your product so far. Wish I had one for range week back in the day! I'll go with Triad on this one as well. Thanks again!
