The owner of the rifle felt it wasn’t shooting good enough. He thinks the steel isn’t good. So, he decided to make his own bushing and put it on a cleaning rod and push it down the bore to check the barrel. He feels there are tight spots in it. I’ll guarantee you that he scored the tops of the lands. Barrel is guaranteed junk now.
Any lint, dirt, carbon particles etc.... will get forced between the slug and the bore and your going to do damage. Worse yet.... a steel bushing was made and to what spec it was made to and your pushing it down the bore. Nothing but a disaster here.

Nothing in his email about how he’s cleaning it, how many rounds on it… how it’s shooting etc… not to mention what the diameter/spec he made his custom steel bushing to in order to check the bore.

Yes.... No warranty being given.

I'm refraining from using very choice words right now!

In 60+ years of shooting shotgun, rifle and handgun and reloading for all of them starting at age 14, I've learned a little. And the more I learn the more I understand how much more there is to know.

And one of the things of which I am sure is that Homo sapiens as a species hasn't really evolved much in 5000 years.

WTH , another mental midget experiment , I figured they were voted out . Did I miss something ???.

ANY of the following Lead ,Copper , Tin or combination aka White metal . Any electricians around ? ,perhaps they could lend a Bell Ringer bit and do a smooth bore

About a month ago, I stuck a 2" long .330" pin gauge into the well oiled bore of a new 338 Bartlein barrel blank. I turned it loose and it slowly started slithering to the other end. I was fascinated by the fact that I could put my finger over the hole and feel a suction and make the pin stop, remove my finger and it would start moving again. In a few seconds it fell out the other end. I'm easily entertained.

I’m always amazed when guys would rather blame a poor defenseless tube of steel for accuracy issues instead of looking in the mirror (when 99.9% of the time it’s the human that sucks).

No need to throw shade on borescopes and abrasives either… they’re just tools, it’s not their fault goofballs that stroke away their rifling give them a bad rap. 😝
