We are in there again... I am working diligently to keep my place in the Top 10 shooters of the Centerfire Class. I am really trying to push my way to the top of the Rimfire Class as well. I have been kickin some serious ass in the rehabilitation of my shoulder and ribs. I am almost back to where I can hold my hunting rifle "off hand", so I will definitely be using the good ol shooting sticks for our hunting season.

Smiley's are a passion now. I can't even begin to tell you how much I look forward to this challenge, each and every time that it comes around. My family is getting a big kick out of it too, which I am really lovin!! To each their own, but I think that more and more families should get their kiddos involved at an early age, and keep the tradition goin!!

Best of luck to everyone, and keep them barrels warm!! Stay safe...

DK

Lance,

I went back and looked and it seems I never got the email notice from paypal that you sent payment - I see the payment did come thru so you are back in for the rest of the year. Will throw in some extra targets to make up for it ;)

FYI - Fall targets have not shipped yet - they go out OCT6

Jason

YES!! We got ours too!! This match is the toughest one to get done with hunting season. I hate to try and shoot unless it is a non hunting weekend. We will do our best!!

DK

Went out on Saturday and Sunday to shoot this. Had a blast with my brother, who also shot it. Sending them in ASAP.

I thought I shot OK. But looking at the scores from Spring/Summer....glad I at least had fun! I am around a 137 or so from my count. But I forgot the confidence shot. Next time...next time.

Sorry guys, not yet, had a very sick 4 year old for the last week plus, so was not able to get the results up this weekend. Hopefully by next weekend! Then wrapping up prizes shortly after.

Which brings me to my announcement for the NEXT SEASON...

***IMPORTANT PART - NO MORE SMACK THE SMILEY MATCHES UNTIL FURTHER NOTICE***

Now for the Why? Several weeks ago I found out I have another baby on the way, so the next 7ish months will center around preparing for that and all that is entailed. Long story short, there is just not enough time for everything and this has to be sacrificed instead of very important family time. So I have chosen to put the match on a hiatus until further notice. When I re-start it I will announce it here first.

If you would like me to notify you by email when I start back up or other updates, please email me at [email protected]

I want to thank all the shooters who have participated for 12+ years since I came up with this match as well as the sponsors who made the prizes possible. Without both of you this would have never happened.

Thanks all,

Jason

Jason,
hope your child is doing better.
I just wanted to say thank you for all the time you have given to run this fundraising match for all these years.
Personally, I have enjoyed the learning process that I have gone through, and I really appreciate the chance to have competed.

Best wishes to you and your family.

Again, thank you,
Bill

Kids being sick and hurt are heartbreakers to me. As always... Family First!! Congrats on the new addition too!! Thanks for all your hard work in keeping this competition going!

Your efforts, all the sponsors generous donations, and all the benefits to the shooting community, and muchly needed funds and gear for our military men and women is appreciated far beyond words could ever express.

So, until then, take care of yourself and your family. We will be waiting to do some much needed Smackin therapy!! God Bless!!!

DK

Jason, just some food for thought. Have you thought about turning over the reigns to another Hider? I am sure that there are several people that wouldn't mind taking over for you while you are out taking care of your family. Just a thought from my end.

DK

Congrats on the new addition! Thanks for running a great match thus far and I, for one, will gladly wait it out and get back on board when you are ready. I'll send an email to get on the list at the site and send along best wishes!

DUDE!!! as my wife would say! you know where I stand on this, wishing you the best life has to offer!

12 years? ! Geeze and when did you start me out in the long range Groundhog matches at Mifflin County Sportsman ?

the journey has been well, and for heavens sake , DON'T stay away too long! I'm addicted to this match! I just bought a 17HMR and 2 SCAR Anschutz trainers for this

Blaa Blaa Blaa....

I did hear a request for someone to step in for a bit? ill second that... surely someone can help take the load off JB for awhile to support the cause?

Congratulations on the news Jason!
if it helps you feel better, for us the step from 1 to 2 was the toughest, after that it's a piece of cake.
I will truly miss shooting this match, those lil Smiley's certainly have a way of humbling me!
If I can be of any assistance at all if you decide to start things back up, I will be glad to help any way I can!

This competition was good fun. Shot it with another one of the ASC guys from time to time. Won a Dewey cleaning rod one time. I was surprised to see the post again, any chance we will see STS make a resurgence?
