Some of us deal with bids and contract negotiation on a daily basis on our day jobs and really don't want to carry some of that hassle into our hobbies. I tend to research pricing before I list items and normally will sell for 60-80% of new price. I take care of my shit and keep boxes and such, so I know I am giving a good deal 90+% of the time.
If you get butt-hurt because I don't want to waste my time haggling, tough-up and move on. You'll just piss me off by sitting there telling me how a negotiation is supposed to happen. I may budge a few bucks here and there, but knocking an item from 60% of new price down to 45% for an opening price just to get a haggling session going will get you lucky to get a response from me, much less a civil one. This ain't the bazaar in Tangier.
