My "sniper boots" were a set of Hi-Teck Magnums that I spray painted tan and re-laced with 550 cord because the laces didn't have to be black.

It kept me from tearing up a set of serviceable combat boots on stalks.

For everything else a Sniper does, regular combat boots work.

Re: Sniper boots

I think these are military sniper boots.

All joking aside, I would LOVE to have a pair of Vibram 5 Fingers made into tall moccasins for hunting on the prairie in the early fall when it's still warm.

Re: Sniper boots

honestly look into their new treks and such, they are putting a thicker sole on them. pretty cool shoes, i only use them for working out/ running but if that floats your boat more power to ya. i could see using them for watersports and climbing as well.

1- post 100 posts on the hide
2- buy scopes and weapons way outside your skill level and budget insisting you need FFP
3- getting some sweet ass sniper boots!

Re: Sniper boots

The camo soles are the big deal. My unit snipers used to obsess with keeping theirs painted. Now the color is molded in. I used to tease them and tell them to just try facing the enemy and their soles wouldn't be visible. They didn't think I was funny.

Re: Sniper boots

I dunno, I've always wanted to get a pair of Minnetonka boots for stalking, I know my dad used to have a pair of handmade moccasins he got from god only knows where that he hunted in for at least 20 years and those buggers were silent

Re: Sniper boots

Back in the day they were Palladium boots, or the blue / grey issued coral boots, those were the high speed sniperific boots to have. The low budget brand were the Israeli Commando Boots with the buckles cut off... all great sniper boots.

Any one of these with UDT shorts and you were the shit.

Re: Sniper boots

you only rolled over the laces with regular boots, the high speed, low drag sniper boots were too low to roll over.

This was basically the sniper boot of the day. I actually had a black dyed pair that I wore once on a Battalion force march. Got snagged and after the 15 miles had to do wind sprint until the BN CO got tired.

Those were the boots? That's funny because I have the exact same pair in a different color. They were used for swimming because they were just canvas and rubber so didn't have a lot of crap to dry. We couldn't wear them around the base, only around the hanger. I still have them, in fact, I think I wore them to RO one year.
