Sniper Elite

I hope this is the right place for this.

My child bought me a X-Box game called Sniper Elite. I'm not much on playing video games but this game is pretty darn cool. You are a sniper in WWII and you have to use camoflauge, cover and concealment. It's not easy. If any of you guys have kids and already have some sort of gaming system you need to check this game out.

Sniper Elite V2 is bad ass game. I like the game play a lot. I got it for the playstation 3. It's a sequel to a game that came out like ten years ago on the playstation 1.

Orginal sniper elite was a ps2 title, then ported to xbox. Had poor sales. Sniper elite v2 is a rehashing of the original game. Playing on super hard difficulty is nuts. Most realistic bullet physics in a game, bar none. Blowing up tanks with a shot to the gas cap is a bit rediculous though.

I picked this up the other day. Couldn't stand to play it with any of the assists, so I turned them all off. It's fun to range with the reticle and work out drops. The longest shot I've had to take was only about 200 meters though.

the game makes you go out of the way to get distance targets. try shooting a grenade off an enemies belt when they are in a group. big points boost

The ballistics are not realistic at all.

Look at the ranges you're shooting at and look at how much the bullet drops and wind drifts. It's about on par with a .45 acp, if not worse.

That said, it is a fun game. A nice slow pace in contrast with CoD and Halo etc...

For realistic ballistics, look into ARMA 2, and WWIIOL Battleground Europe (both for PC). The latter has superb ballistics and damage models, though does have aged graphics.

not everyone wants to drop $1k for a decent rig cap. for console, you wont beat sniper elite

I have been wanting to get this game but was holding off to read some reviews like this one to make my mind up on should I get it or not. Sounds like it will be a pretty fun game.
