Movie Theater Sniper: Inside the crosshairs

Re: Sniper: Inside the crosshairs

Watching it, only complaint... Why is it necessary to replicate Carlos Hathcock's shot through the scope, using the wrong equipment, wrong ammo, and wrong target scope. Then wonder why it doesn’t work...

You forgot to mention RANGE, because we all know that wouldn't have a factor in it. I guess the History Channel couldn't find someone willing to hit a 1.5in circle at 300.

Your right, range would play a role in final impact velocity. It just seems if one was to take the time to put this to film for a national show, history/discovery channels, they would take the time to get it right. But then I guess they know better

Re: Sniper: Inside the crosshairs

I thought the range for the Hathcock shot was kinda short...

Though the animation of the recreation of the shot was kinda cool. As well, animations of other shots from the sandbox.

i think it may be an answer to mythbusters about why their shot through a scope didnt work, he then went on to use a scope with a somewhat basic background shared with the actual scope, and was able to put a round through it no problem. mythbusters claimed that it was impossible because they couldnt get through a scope.
