Vern is a well respected teacher. His classes have been on my to do list for some time. I'm certain you will not regret going.

Re: Sniper School

Vern is an outstanding Instructor, unfortunately time has taken its toll and Vern is in "semi-retirement" at the moment, not sure if he will be instructing much past this year. Last time I checked, I think that he was booked up, but you may still want to see if there are any openings left.

Fortunately for everyone, Vern has done everything that he can to pass along what he knows to other shooters, so there are a number of other instructors who he has worked with that are carrying on with his knowledge.

Last I heard, Ed Shell was possibly going to be taking over the training at Central VA Tactical?

Vern is an OUTSTANDING individual, he has trained many deploying military members free of charge, and he has always gone above and beyond to help further the shooting community and any shooter who is willing to learn.

I really hate to see him step down, but he has really earned his retirement so hopefully he can start enjoying it!

Best of Luck,
M Richardson

Re: Sniper School

Thank you guys for your replies. Sounds like a great guy, and instructor. I hope to meet him and gain some knowledge before he retires.

Thanks again,

Rob is a great guy Ive shot with him a few times at the meetings Sniper Paradise does 2 times a year. You may wanna contact him and if you can go to the weekend shot he is holding in Tennessee. This way you could meet him in person and ask away there is about 50 people there you can ask about his teaching methods. Great stand up guy, Sorry I dont know much about vern

Re: Sniper School

Per the topic below at Snipers Paradise, Vern is "Officially" done teaching as of Oct this year.

Very sad day for the Long Range Shooting Community IMHO. Fortunately Vern has gone above and beyond to pass on his knowledge to people like Rob Shepard and Ed Shell, not to mention the hundreds of shooters that he has worked with.

The next Snipers Rendezvous in Murfreesboro TN will be Oct 8-10.

Per above, Robert “Shep” Sheppard and his crew of Instructors will be there. Very sad to say, but I do not believe that Vern will be able to make this one.

The Rendezvous are an excellent opportunity, 2 days of shooting at steel setup every 50 yards out to at least 1,200 yards at your leisure. You also get a great opportunity to see over 40 shooters from all over the country, talk to them and check out their equipment. Overall an excellent opportunity to learn and practice your skills.

Best of Luck,

Re: Sniper School

Thanks to all,

Wish I could have met the man himself. It seems that everyone I have talked to has a lot of respect for Mr. Harrison. Maybe some day our paths will cross. At any rate, looking to take a course maybe after the first of the year by one of his predecessors.

Thanks, Rem Oil
