HI guys - being the anal retentive, anxiety ridden, busy body that I am, I reached out to Marc to inquire when he thought he would be making the call for money for this clinic.

Somebody on the wait list for this class is going to be real happy. I have had a severe injury to my hand and will be unable to attend. I had reserved a spot for all 4 days. I did this class last year and had an absolute blast.

1. If only taking PR1 then just buy the two day class via the provided link
2. If taking PR1 and PR2 for the full four days, as @GBMaryland and I are doing, buy the two day class twice (need to go thru the transaction process twice...there is no quantity field to increment to "2")
3. Apparently I'm the only one who reads "thread", as in "Here in this Thread" to be a forum thread but he was referring to the email that he sent out. Reply to Marc's email and indicate paid and what for as in "Paid for PR1 & 2 for total of $1,500"
And, I'm assuming its not necessary to "reply to all" when responding to him about payment.

Dunno, Nik...worked ok for me.
Now, when I did paypal, the paypal pop up screen didn't go away on its own but there was a small pop up that said "transaction completed" or to that effect and when you clicked on the "ok" button in that pop up, both it and the Paypal pop up went away.
Then I just did the same thing...from the top.
I got two receipts from PayPal and two "Large Transaction Amount" emails from Amex as I have that set up for any purchase over $500. So, it appears that it worked fine if a little bit kludgy with the Paypal pop up.
Not sure but that is what I did....The pop up never appeared for the 2nd transaction. I will wait an hour and try again
Did you check your PayPal account and whatever account you are drawing against...perhaps the transaction went thru but the site malfunctioned??? Maybe??
I got it fixed.
The 2nd transaction was blocked as the credit card company thought it was fraudulent. I called them and was then able to pay the second one
Looking forward to this. Glad I wasn’t the only one with PayPal issues.
@Enough Said - hi Marc, if I remember correctly, you emailed/posted some sort of info/data package before last year’s clinic.

I have four each 2"x10"x2' pieces of lumber that I will bring up for putting under bipods. As Marc mentioned (ah...he mentioned it somewhere...I think! haha), these or similar will be needed to shoot...oh, maybe 700 yards and further due to the incline across the range.... if you don't have leg extensions (and maybe even then).
I'll be glad to make these available to other students in the two clinic(s) that run from 26th to 29th.
And no...I'm really not that altruistic...I had to buy an 8' length and then had it cut to 2' pieces so...extras.
Prob leave them with the club as they were absolutely wonderful and accommodating to us last year incl scrambling around a bit for scrap lumber so we could reach the far targets.

If you use scrap deck boards you can make stairs, very easy to change levels that way.

Unfortunately I won’t be going this time, I originally signed up for all 4 days but a few days out sick with Covid, wedding planning, a few fishing tournaments and hunting season burned all the vacation days I had so I had to bail.
Can you let us guys who are coming into town tomorrow what bar/restaurant you will be at so we can meet up again?
I just attended the SH PR1 and PR2 clinics taught by @lowlight and @Enough Said at Mifflin Sportsman in Lewistown, PA.
First, I want to offer my unalloyed gratitude and appreciation for all of Matt’s (@Tikka595II ) hard work and wonderful hospitality. The range was set up beautifully for us and Matt worked his ass off each and every day to keep it that way and accommodate any requests Frank/Marc had. Just super in every way.
TLDR version: the quality of instruction was superb, I was able to far exceed any shooting performance expectations I had, and we had a shit ton of fun. FUCKING AWESOME.
A little blurb to maybe add a bit of perspective to my report. I turn 70 in about a week, I was a competitor (which is not the same as actually being competitive) in another shooting discipline for a long time but can’t really do it anymore, and I’ve only been shooting scoped rifle for 3 years in total. I have zero intention nor physical capability to compete in PRS or other field type rifle competitions. But, precision rifle offered me a number of very interesting challenges and I’ve really enjoyed the trip so far.
I was initially self-taught via SH training vids and other YT vids incl Ryan Cleckner. IMO, self-taught = blind leading the blind but I had no coaches locally to me. So, I attended the SH PR1 course at Mifflin last year and probably put a lot more grey hairs into Frank’s beard.
I did my very best to apply and practice what I was taught last year but felt that I hit a bit of a wall and I wanted more challenging target presentations and situations than I have available to me locally. So, I signed up for both PR1 and PR2 this year at Mifflin. This is four days in total.
During PR1, I think I won “Most Improved” which I joked is kind of like winning “Miss Congeniality” at the Homecoming Queen pageant! LOL In fact, I found this evaluation to be very gratifying and it showed that I’ve been on the right track and that putting in time and effort actually pays off in improved performance.
Also, from my experience in taking clinics over many years in another shooting discipline, my view is that there is never an end to work on fundamentals. Even the very best have bad habits that slip in and need an expert eye to help identify and correct. With my definitely not being at all expert, taking PR1 again reinforced the lessons from last year and gave me the chance to grasp stuff that just flew right by me the first time. It’s like peeling an onion. There is always more to be revealed.
We used Marc’s Weaponized Math (WM) again but this year he had a chance to tweak it just a bit to account for the steep climb uphill from about 400 to 1k yards (see pic below). I have heard Marc say that he’s just a Marine with a high school education but I think he’s being too humble. Nobody else came up with this easy and accurate approach to calculate dope. And, it worked.
For me, there was one .2 mil up adjustment to suggested try dope at 400 and then it carried on accurately up to 1,000. Frank showed me how to vary my MV to true up my 4DOF using 600 yard validated WM dope and I used that calculator to get a first round center hit on a 12” target at 1040 yards which just thrilled me to no end…worth it just for that. Even Marc smiled at that one. haha
For me and me only, PR2 and shooting from unconventional positions was all about challenging myself and seeing what I can and can’t do at this age and physical state. As expected, I did find limitations but I had some successes that I really didn’t expect. Also very well worth it to me.
As I said, I’m 70 in a week and have a few health issue. I’m not the oldest guy here nor the most infirmed. With that said, I probably would have preferred a 3 day combined PR1/2 as I was definitely dragging on the afternoon of the 4th day. More robust folks would probably be just fine.
Everybody in both classes were really fine folks. Now, I know I’m not everybody’s cup of tea…who is? But, everybody was helpful and supportive of each other, I saw people work to help each other with equipment issues, spotting, etc. There was absolutely zero conflict, no ego, and no pissing contests. I did get a chance to know some of my fellow students a bit better and I would be honored to call them friend and see them again. I won’t name names as I’ll surely forget someone, but I think they know who they are.
Same went for Frank and Marc. Socializing at dinner and drinks was outstanding and both of them were all about the comradery. And on one night, even some old war stories came out.

Nothing but first rate instruction and evening camaraderie. Frank and Marc give it their all both day and night. All the people I met were fantastic!
Hey all,
First off, it was awesome getting to meet each and every one of you. Everyone in class was not only an outstanding marksman, but an awesome group of people from varying backgrounds and locations.
I met a lot of new friends, drank a few alcoholic beverages, and hit a lot of steel. The class was, by far, one of the best taught classes that I've had the pleasure of taking hands down.
When I went into the class, weaponized math was nothing but a jumble of numbers on a paper to me. I couldn't for the life of me figure out how this simple formula was actually going to work.
I mean, people spend big bucks on laser range finders, Kestrels, chronographs, ballistic calculators, etc., I didn't see how one "simple" formula could solve the equation for every distance covered.
After the first 4 hours, marksmanship evaluation and class time, I started to understand the idea behind weaponized math. Once we hit the range and started to use the specialized data sheet for the range, altered due to the fact that our targets were going up the side of a mountain, rather than just shooting a flat range, it all started to click. 300, 400, 500 yard shots were simple.
The second day, my eyes were opened. Prior to class, the farthest I'd shot was 500 yards. I was able to repeatedly make hits at that distance, but I'd gotten there using a ballistics calculator. Everyone in class was constantly hitting water-line marks all the way out to 900 yards EASY just using weaponized math; the 1k mark was more challenging due to the swirling winds we had that day, instead of consistent 1st round hits, it took 2 or 3 tries in some instances. I didn't see a single student using a calculator until the part of the class where Frank helped everyone true their data in the software. Everything else was simple pencil and paper math. I was astounded.
Once again, thank you Frank and Marc for the great class. I'm definitely going to try to see you all again soon.
