A side thought on the UN...
Since the UN is funded in large part by the US... and they spend their days blowing money partying and eating expense account meals in Manhattan... while doing absolutely nothing but screwing over the planet and loading their pockets in a way that makes the DC Swamp look tame. So if things go to crap here... just what is the UN going to do about anything? Those who can't catch a plane back to LeSotho will be utterly screwed. And what are they going to do when they don't have money to pay their third world troops, arm them, fly them anywhere... Fight them? How?
Then, ask yourself, what happens to the rest of the world when billions in US free shit stops dropping on the world in the form of USAID and free giveaways? And when the grain shipments stop. And when Americans stop buying BMW's and Lexus's and Petroleum because they are too busy in conflagration to worry about their morning commute? What happens to the countries who rely on the US for defense? And whose overseas bases bring billions to those countries? Or rely on the US for defense technologies... as their spendy hardware rusts and collapses in months due to lack of support? How are they going to keep their (now starving) people in line? Or 'help out.'
As for China... their economy will implode the instant Americans stop shopping at WalMart and Amazon. And 1.n Billion of them aren't going to be eating western grain and China can't even come close to feeding itself. They are already having to use every dirty trick at their disposal to keep their people in line. You think the bread and circuses are bad here... China makes Rome look positively tame. How do you think that the tiny CCP elite are going to sweep that hungry tide back? All their 'Social Credit Score' technology is going to crash and burn in a day and sharpened hoes, knives and sticks aren't easily regulated. You can't massacre 1.n billion subjects before they chop you up with a rice-harvesting implement or a hoe.
Whoever said it above that "There will be noone coming to rescue the US" is not only dead nuts on... But noone is going to rescue the people who we have supported and enabled and fed, watered and cared for since 1945. If they knock down the US as many want to do, they are slitting their own throats and guaranteeing a trip back to 9th Century (arguably, what the Durka Durka types want... but we'll leave them out of it for now.)
The interesting question is... in their death throes... which national government decides that they might as well just light off their nuclear arsenal? Don't you all think there are people in Washington saying to themselves... "well, if things get really bad, we can always use tactical nukes..." Or that in the basement of the RAND Corporation, there aren't studies on how to use Chem/Bio/Nuke weapons on Americans? We aren't that naïve? Are we? What does a swamp in its death throes do? Steal an election? Chicken feed. What do they do when there is an existential threat to their swamp and their cushy jobs and their Yale Diplomacy degrees and their McMansions in Chevy Chase? Trump was a minor annoyance. What happens when 150 million Americans are fed up. Attempted genocide seems to be the historical go-to. Pol Pot, Mao, Funny Moustache guys (both of them). Wonder what they're cooking up in Ft. Deitrick and Los Alamos? Wonder what Lipstick Mileys Wargamers in the Pentagon basement are working on. Protecting Taiwan? Defending Ukraine? Or depopulating Kansas so it can be a breadbasket for the capitol? Hey, scenario-generating is ongoing all the time, isn't it? Hunger Games much?
Unless it can be avoided, the next 'collapse' will make the Great Depression look like the Dot Com boom. AD 536... move over. You may not have the title any more. (Look it up)
