Fieldcraft Snow, Land Nav, Sleeping bags, etc etc

Reading these topics makes me wonder if I shouldn't put on a winter survival/land nav, HOW TO STAY DRY, winner type couse.

I'm thinking more of a fun, non shooting, non tacitacal course.

It's cover, not only how to survive but how to enjoy winter camping.

Wonder if there would be enough takers to make it worth while?

If interested what would you like to see covered.

Not to brag, but not only have I worked with Eskimos but I've taught Eskimos winter survival.

When I went to survival school, they said that all i had to do for Arctic Survival was find a baby seal, club upside the head, and wait about 5 seconds for a pissed off Green Peace member to come along. Then I bum a ride back with them!

I absolutely disagree with enjoying winter camping these days. My abused, broken and arthritic body has taken a beating over the years from all the use and abuse, and injury of training, working and playing in Alaska and cold is very hateful now. My knees are shot and painful below 40f, back and neck just cannot get to feel good. My right arm is longer than left now, spine is crooked. I took a 180' tumbling fall in 85 soloing an ice climb, landed in a pillow of lose snow on mini ledge or the long ride down 1000s of feet, I climbed down and hiked out, drove home, opened the door, saw my wife and then collapsed to the floor in pain and shock 911 here we come...... Really messed me up.

Now is someone wants to sherpa me to a heated stand up tent and a easy chair inside with moose burgers and bou sausage with drink, I am all in!

Great idea. I'm too far off to attend but that would be a well worth while course for sure. I've winter camped in N.Y. some and now in NC but Wyoming and experience from AK is a whole different winter. Would be great.
