So, is China gonna take a stab at Taiwan?

They use their economic strings to threaten any country that dares call it a country on its own, especially smaller countries around the Indo-Pacific region that have fallen fowl of it's easy infrastructure loans under the belt and road scam

I think what people tend to forget about China is that they are trying their best to be the next super power. While the rest of the world is seemingly at “ peace” and countries are down sizing their militaries, the Chicoms are building and growing and investing. The Chinese gov’t doesn’t give a shit about people theirs or their opponents. They need land, clean air and clean water, they are running out. Instead of investing their money into technologies trying to find new solutions to their infrastructure issues, they are going with the tried and trued method of just taking it when the conditions become so bad. Which is why they are building their military while we like the rest of the world neuter ourselves. Also, since when has the US been so eager to follow along with what the world does and asks us to do?

China has the nuclear ace up its sleeve if and when their military exploits go tits up and they are exposed as the paper tiger everybody suspects they are. but here’s the thing, the Chinese playbook doesn’t have the use of nukes as a last ditch to turn the tide, it has the use of nukes almost mandatory from go. The chinese gov’t has long felt that they have the numbers to weather a nuke for nuke attack. Something like, the Chinese would nuke the US and kill almost everyone here 350 million or so, but for us to nuke the Chinese and kill 350 million still leaves them around 650 million folks. This thought has been rolling around the backs of the Chicoms heads for decades. remember, they couldnt give a shit about its citizens.
Next to the USA, Australia is the prize China wants And needs. But they realize, to go for it will be and all or nothing campaign as this would bring the entire world against China. a world that is getting sick and tired of china’s bullshit btw….
Taiwan, at least gives them a story. It gives them a reason, as pointed out earlier, a weak ass bullshit reason but a reason nonetheless.

Taiwan should adopt the Swiss Defense model. The Baltics did. The Russians know that they will die in droves.

A couple of guys with Barrets can make airports useless. Dragons too. A dragon hitting a full Ro-Ro would set off an Inferno. Smokepots in stashes in huge quantities too. Small patrol boats with hellfire systems and CIWS. Hundreds of them. Build canalization features coming off all beaches and major ports.

China will use a page out of the Wehrmacht's vertical envelopment strategy when they took the Netherlands. They are building a lot of C-17 clones.
And ignore what happened on Crete. Had the Brits effectively armed and trained the Crete civs and prepped for the Airborne Assault, they would have won against the Germans. It was still a disaster for the Germans and only by having air superiority did the Germans win in the end. Taiwan is basically Sierra Nevada mountain range and a small sliver of Seattle stuck together. Like a Switzerland surrounded by Ocean.
Contested Logistics is the decisive factor in Taiwan and Taiwan should be turned into an Arsenal.

Taiwan was/is literally laying claim to mainland China for most of its existence, its not like China claiming Taiwan is any different. The only reason Taiwan is not publically claiming mainland China anymore is that they had a reality check that balance of power shifted and its not even remote chance of Taiwan taking mainland.Till the reality check happened ROC, a hardcore military dictatorship right into the 90's to was preparing to invade mainland China as much as PRC was to invade Taiwan.

When you hear all the warmongering in MSM and congress about Chicoms flying through Taiwan's AIDZ , AIDZ is not Taiwan's airspace in any way and ROC AIDZ covers a considerable part of Chichom airspace. So Chicoms can fly their whole AF trough it and never leave airspace over mainland China.
