IMHO Trump did this to himself and by default to all of us.

Dont get me wrong, he basically did a good job, got the economy going, got us a stacked SCOTUS, stood up to the Chicoms, etc.

But he just couldnt learn to keep that big mouth shut. In the beginning he consistently attacked the media and finally pissed them off and turned them completely against him. He continually made himself look like an ass on Tweeter etc. Im kind of neutral on his treatment of Covid but a bit more thought before running mouth might have been wise.

Now we're facing, basically, the end of the world as we know it.

Why couldnt he have just done his job and kept foot out of face?

You're mistaken in thinking that the enemy cares about any of that stuff. Media hated numerous presidents who didn't talk like Pres. Trump. He is vocally honest compared to his predecessors about their actions.

What you are suggesting is similar to people who say we need to respect terrorists beliefs so they don't chop our heads off. Terries gonna terry regardless of how you behave.

    OK boomer.

This is because the boomers didn’t finish the job 60 years ago and let the Kennedy’s pave the way for rigging elections.

But go on and blame 60 years of failure on the new guy. I get it. Scapegoat so you can sleep better at night.

    jerry was right. Lgowts.

    🤘😎

covid certainly didn't help, nor did his lackadaisical treatment of covid. but really what hurt him is his big mouth and twitter rants. if he just acted a little presidential, he'd be doing a victory lap now. he should have just shut up and let his accomplishments speak for themselves.

Attack is the only plan worth a damn. We’re talking about commies, they won’t stop for niceties. Imagine what the last four years with ANY other candidate the Republicans ran in 2016? Romney? Cruz?

This sucks, no doubt, but Trump has smoked out the MSM and DNC to show their commie stripes.

NOt at all. What Im suggesting is that its wise to pick your battles and not fight over every little piece of bullshit. Outwit your enemies. Running a country is a lot different than a manufactured reality TV show...though I can see the similarities...LOL

You know who's to blame? Me. That's right, me. I never paid attention to the corruption all around me. I was too busy trying to live my life. I was a frog (not french) in a pot of water. They kept turning up the heat until when I noticed it was too late and I was too old. I started to get more involved about 14 years ago, but the learning curve was pretty steep and quite frankly I don't think I made a difference other than to try and warn others.

Now it's just 'shut up boomer', or 'it's your fault boomer', and that stings. But you know what? As an old friend once told me, when you throw a rock into a pack of dogs, the one that yelps is probably the one that got hit.

Yup, this is all my fault.

You fell for the he hurt my feels line of shit.
Media attacked this man 24/7 and when he stood up condemned him as a bully.
The Dems have been fighting with knife fighting rules for several election cycles.
When a Repub spoke up they'd demonize them and act all sheepish.
The reason we had him to start was because he was a fighter and told the Dems
    to get fucked when needed.
Add in the Jo Jorgenson votes and the gap tightens.
After the Mitt and McStain fucking roll over it should be clear the high road
    is best left to betas.

They were so afraid of a repeat they shut down an entire country under the guise of Rona.

Couldn’t have said it better myself.

Other than the end of world comment.

Elections will be back soon, and now everyone will get to see what idiots the Democrats are, and support will come roaring back to the Republicans. It happened with Obama getting trump elected and it’ll happen again.

I agree. I pinned my hopes on him the first vote, and he did exceptionally well considering who attacked him non-stop without any help from his so-called fellow Republicans. Coup has finally succeeded. He appeared to me to have a monster inferiority complex, and he showed it with every tweet and every response to the slightest insult. Wife and I have voted straight Republican always, even when the idiot Paul Ryan wasted the best shot at doing some good. Pissed away a golden opportunity. Trump has until the handover to do what he should have done all along: Fire the top floor inhabitants of the FBI, DOJ, CIA and every other agency. No Pensions, no severance. Get ‘em GONE. I don’t care if the incoming twats re-hire them. Make these commies suffer awhile. Throw the tweety bird shit in the dumpster and get your ass on the tube and explain the facts of life and name names, without your orange fucking head exploding. He is a victim of a self-inflicted .44 magnum headshot. He can fuck up a wet dream. Hillary and her whole damn family should have been at Guantanamo the first week. What a friggin waste of 4 years. Disappointed? You bet yer ass. Talking tough doesn’t do shit, Donald.

What you're attributing as little BS battles add up to a big picture. Dems lie constantly in small areas to push bigger narratives. Trump calls it out quickly on twitter. Dems then say Trump is being unpresidential. They are just mad that he exposes their game before it gets traction.

He has outwit them numerous times using twitter. I can't count how many times he has posted a typo when talking about a topic, only to have the left "correct" him, spreading the message further than it would have if they ignored the tweet. Or he will say a slightly incorrect statistics, like the top 20 cities ranking in violence are run by dems. They will fact check him and say "False. One of those top 20 is run by a republican".

If Trump was really so hated by American loving citizens for his way of speaking, no one show up to the rallies. But we see the opposite.

The people who hate Trump for his speaking don't care about his policies anyway. Those people don't live in reality. They have formed their own world that ignores what goes on around them.

Elections are basically a popularity contest. Biden learned: All i have to do is be less hated than Trump.

That's a pretty low bar, and he still almost blew it. Hindsight is 20/20. Trump had a couple of bad debate performances where he really could have whollped Biden on stuff like calling him racist when he shut down flights from China.

If you are republican, assume the press calls you racist. (Every candidate since 1980)
If you are republican, assume the press is against you. (Every candidate since 1980)
*disclaimer--pretty sure press hated Nixon too, just wasn't around to see it.

What Trump failed to do was get his message to a wider audience--it wasn't that he was mean, it was that he got off message and caught up in the pissing match with the press. First time around what was his message
"Build the Wall" "Make America Great Again" He was still trump trolling hardcore--but you got his message
    Second Time around?

    Beat me to it

If he wasn’t a vocal dick 24/7 who was standing up for him.

After a while winners say...fuck it I’ll do it myself.

I dont entirely disagree, Im just saying, as above, tha sometimes its best to choose your battles more carefully. this election is coming down to a handfull of votes.
I'll agree with that at times but not in this instance. Fuck that shit, I voted for the man because I wanted ALL the battles fought, not just some of them. I didn't want him in office an entire term or even just the last part of the term gaming for reelection. I wanted him in there to fuck that place and its games up so bad that it would wake some mother fuckers up to reality and buy us a better chace at survival so my generation or my children can have an opportunity to keep this ship from sinking. If he gets another term, fanfuckin tastic. If he doesn't, be thankful that he was there to accomplish what he was and think of how much we know to be fact we wouldn't otherwise know and how many people have had their eyes opened to it. I voted for a brawler and I'm fucking glad he took the fight to them. There's noone else that could have or would have taken the hits he took for this country the way he did. 5 years ago, if you asked me if a billionaire from NY would speak on my behalf and be what we needed in that place I'd have laughed. That man was a lion and on the very short list of people I admire and would actually appreciate meeting. I'm proud to have had him as my president and the opportunity to witness him in action on our behalf.

Idk, this stuff seems to ebb and flow.

Will say one thing. It may seem like red is a small minority in this country, but is that what these elections show? Sure outliers, but...

I aint saying results dont matter. Im only saying there is a shit-ton of red in this country too. Is it 50/50 or 52/48, 48/52. Depends on almost infinite variables and year to year imo. What percentage of the country doesnt even vote at all @Maser (not picking on you)...?

I'm going to ramble on a moment, feel free to ignore.

Frame it this way, there is a choice between two people. Here are the policies TLDR

    Person A
    • Wants strong border control
    • Wants to bring industry back to the USA
    • Doesn't want more US troops in foreign countries
    • Wants NATO countries to pay their share
    • Doesn't want to murder babies
    Person B
    • Thinks children should be forced hormones and medical procedures to Transition genders
    • Wants open borders
    • Thinks the world ends in a few years due to man made climate change
    • Wants people to freely murder babies if they choose
    • Destroy small business so the big guys can monopolize
    • Wants Government to run every aspect of your life, healthcare, kids, etc
    • Sniffs children and pinches their nipples
    • Sold access to White House through crack addict son
If someone looks at this list, and says "Ooooff, person A has has a rough personality, I'm voting person B".....the vocal attitude of person A wasn't really the reason they lost the vote.

So change who you are to garner the adoration and favor of others? Kind of sounds like a politician to me, don't you think? I'd rather like or dislike someone for the real person and not who they think I want them to be.

Beyond his smug, maybe annoying, maybe narcissistic I don't give a fuck if he's black / white, man / woman, tall / short, whatever. I voted for him (twice) because of what he told me he was about and what he wanted to do. While he may not have achieved ALL his goals, keep in mind he was rowing one way with thousands rowing in another.

Does he say stupid shit on Twiddler? Probably. Does he irritate most people? Most likely. In the end, I don't have to fuck him, sleep with him, or live with him, so I really don't care. What I do care about is what he does at his job.

NO argument there except that often its not what you say but HOW you say it.

If I see you making an error, and need to correct you, how will you respond to my criticism better.

-You dumb fucktard piece of shit, you fucked it al up, your an idiot.

-Well, sir, I believe youve made an error there and if youll permit Id like to show yo abetter way to do that.

somewhat simplistic but it gets to the point.

Believe me, for most of my life I was a lot like Trumpster, brazen and didnt give a fuck. Ive learned a bit of forethought can make the road a lot smoother.

This argument falls apart if you look at Bidens attitude anyway. He gets a free out from the media and people ignore it even when confronted.

I have yet to see Trump act in this way. Did I miss something?

None of you dumbasses gets it.

Win or lose in this election, Trump is the last Republican President. While the Republicans have been busy protecting thier Kings with thier Rooks, the commies have been working thier Knights and Bishops toward a checkmate for 60 years.

Trump's defeat of Hillary was a short reprieve from God.

The commies were caught off guard four years ago, but that will never happen again.

    Hi,

You cannot change the path of big politics aka the COUNTRY starting from the top. You have to start at the bottom.

    Street
    Block
    Town
    County
    State

ONLY then can you think to change anything on national level.

Start putting money where mouth is at and move your family, your businesses, etc to the largest of those entities you find that you fit with listed above and make sure it doesn't slide the wrong way.

    Sincerely,
    Theis

IMHO Trump did this to himself and by default to all of us.
But he just couldnt learn to keep that big mouth shut. In the beginning he consistently attacked the media and finally pissed them off and turned them completely against him.

    :ROFLMAO: :ROFLMAO: :ROFLMAO:
Yeah, right - because you can totatally reason with them. Were you not watching their treatment of him from the day he descended the golden escalator?

Everyone really thinks Trump wasn't prepared and plans to bend over and take this? We all new they were going to try this. They have been throwing hail marries the last four years. Everyone better lean on their representatives hard. It doesn't take ver long to email them 3 or 4 times per day.

Trump wasnt supposed to win in 2016.

He was a unique man in a moment of time that landed in the midst of something to which it was never thought would be prevented from continuing its ruse on the People.

We knew the Deep State existed.....even Washington warned about it when speaking of parties, Eisenhower named it despite he being what one would think its greatest proponent. It speaks to Eisenhowers Patriotism and decency.

In my experience its only since Fast and Furious, IRS scandal, Clintons emails that Ive seen Deep State accelerate and indicate to me that Justice does not apply to some. You old guys could consider Tonkin Gulf a deep state mess. I wonder how that would have worked had the crew of the Maddox had access to the internet......

Deep State was shocked by 2016.

They were not going to have same happen in 2020.

There are probably 1000 people in the US that are the true Deep State.

    330 million fucked by 1000.

    Blame ?

Read a couple of different news opinions this a.m. on the divided country, and the writers' opinions on those who voted for trump. Kicked the south and middle US because these demographics dont embrace the new deals, values, rights, and whatever of the enlightened and awoke.

Clearly there are two sides, just like sports teams.

One side is enlightened, woke, progressive, and out for equality for all, at any cost, and they hate the other sides family values, work ethic, property rights, and individual freedoms.
And those people hate the "old America", old values, and anything that doesnt meet their progressive agenda.
And are working to destroy it.
These are the actions seen done and pushed by democratic progressives.

One writer mentioned world view as well, that the rest of the world doesnt appreciate the "old holdouts" who want to keep the values, mores, and freedoms the conservative side of Americans wants.

One writer blamed the conservatives for building the country on the backs of slaves, still emotionally holding the descendants in chains, and wanting to continue that form of slavery to preserve an antiquated way of life that enriches the conservatives and demeans any progressive efforts for equality for all.

    Blame???

No conservative writer has responded in kind blaming the progressives for all the worlds woes, like those articles I read who blame conservatives for believing like they do, and holding all those other poor progressives back from getting everything for free and being able to do anything they f'ing want with no consequences.

My football team vs yours. My way vs yours. My thing vs yours.

Hard to really put blame on any major thing or any one person, because it's the law of the jungle, an individual animal wants it all for themself, and fuck every other animal out there. They dont see consequences. They want it their way, period, end of story, both human and animal nature.

History repeats itself. People get too comfortable and too pleasure driven, and forget the animal pack has to work together to survive....
Followed by some species dieing out, replaced by a stronger more focused species.

    Who's team gonna win ???
    The game continues.

C'mon man, you are smarter than this.....we all know the reason Biden is doing so well is because all the 6.5 Creedmore shooters went out to vote.

Maggot - if that were the case for Trump. How come Bush 43 was trashed by the Democrats and media. He never said boo and was oh so presidential.

The same treatment would have befallen any of us or anyone else who challenges the establishment.

Can you blame him for trying?

Mainstream media is the propoganda wing of the establishment.

Social Media is the censorship wing.

    More registered dems? Sure.

Pew research. Not a bunch of hacks

As well as watching the political landscape change.

C'mon man, you are smarter than this.....we all know the reason Biden is doing so well is because all the 6.5 Creedmore shooters went out to vote.

Well, the advice claim is pretty close:

The 5% of the white male vote that Trump lost was almost certainly the manbun crowd... you know, those guys who feel that an unbraked .308 "recoils too much for my liking" and complain about feeding 6BR rounds from AICS mags.

In all seriousness, Trump won over additional minority voters after a period of highly negative coverage and with record turn-out. The enormity of this feat will be overshadowed by his possible defeat, but it's a long-term win for the Republican party, if they can find someone to pick up the torch for 2024 and beyond. That's a huge "if".

As far as what I think he did wrong, well, he doesn't behave consistently with the leadership principles that I cherish and know to work well. His #1 problem is that he did not surround himself with good people and then listen to their advice. He lacked focus. He wanted to persistently put an overly-optimistic spin on issues that were not resolved. He spent too much time with petty squabbles, and seemed to forget that he was the fuckin' POTUS. Good plans (like the "Platinum Plan") got overshadowed by other issues or were simply left without sufficient support.

There are numerous things that counterbalance the above, but that's not the point of this thread.

As far as what I think he did wrong,

I would not be surprised if the whole bump stock ban, lack of pressing forward with his son's campaign promise of HPA and the caviler attitude he displayed towards the 2A for the first 2 years of his administration did his reelection campaign a lot more harm than he could imagine or any of his buddies are willing to acknowledge.

Based upon a quick survey of people who I know to be pro-2A conservatives, those moves didn't cost Trump a single vote. He could have repealed NFA '34 and GCA '68 and not have earned a single additional vote.

This election was not lost (well, presumably lost) by lack of engagement with hardcore conservatives. It was lost in the middle. Everyone wants to look at the rallys and boat parades and what-not, but those just showed the strength of his base support. It's the folks who don't go to rallys or post billboard-sized political signs in that front yards that needed to get won over. The dude that voted for GW in '04 and Obama in '08 and who just bought his first handgun this summer was the voter that needed to get swayed over to the right. That's hard work, and various conversations here over the past year seem to reveal a lack of appetite for that sort of effort; most hardcore conservatives (and for that matter, liberals) would rather scream into the echo chamber.
