I believe the warranty is good on their optics no matter who bought them. I spoke to the Swaro/Kahles rep at the Grind asking him because I usually buy stuff second hand.

He also stated that repairs are discounted after the 10 year warranty is up. Make it very cheap for any repair that is out of warranty.
