I'm not sure if some solvent got onto it and eventually ate away at it, but on the bottom of one of my Leupold Mark 4's there was a 'heavier duty' round sticker next to where the serial number is etched/engraved and it fell off.
While this didn't seem like a big deal at first, when I looked at the underside of the scope to see where it came from I noticed what seems to be some sort of rubber material that is dark orange/red in color.
Is this the port where the gas is filled into the scope, or what is this? I looked and the other Leupold scopes I have have this as well, but I wasn't about to screw around with any of them.
Anyone ever have this happen? I've sat on hold with Leupold all morning so I am still waiting to see if they can send me a replacement; its just a damn sticker after all. But I was curious as to what this is now.
Thanks
